I wanted to see about testing my BAC if I ever needed to do so. This device seems to be accurate.I tested myself during different drinking episodes. My wife, who didn't drink, would always register a 0.000. While I was drinking, I would register appropriate increases with each drink. It is true that if you drink alcohol, you must wait at least 10-20 minutes to get an accurate BAC reading, but I'm guessing it doesn't always mean that what you last drank has been absorbed and circulated in your blood stream. Anyhow, the readings increased with each drink.The opposite, but appropriate readings were scored through the night. With every few hours, my alcohol levels were decreasing and my 7 am reading was all zeros.Anyhow, the readings seemed appropriate, and they also correlated with what type of buzz or disorientation I was feeling at the time.To note..... the device will wait almost a minute to provide another reading, when the last reading was really high... like BAC of 0.46 (which was registered right after taking a whiskey shot). So it waited about 50 seconds to let you take another reading. Seems appropriate though, because such a high reading might require a bit of time to let the device dry out and maybe reset?Anyhow, I like it. It seems accurate and useful.

It is easy to use and accurate.

This product works as advertised. Worth the money. I recommend this to anyone who has to deal with alcohol related issues. Nice tool to have in your belt.

When I was researching this product I noticed several reviews saying right out of the box they kept getting the FLO error message. This concerned me, but due to the high amount of positive reviews I purchased the BACtrack Trace. The first few times I used it I also got the dreaded FLO error. In my case it was user error. After you press the Start button it will start a 11 second countdown. You need to wait until it hits "0" and the screen will display START and three lines. Blow into the mouthpiece with steady pressure, like blowing up a ballon. You will hear a solid beep while you're blowing. Blow until you hear a double beep and a click (about 6 seconds). It takes about 15 seconds for the unit to display the BAC.I wish this info was in the users manual but it is on the BACtrack website. They state "A FLO error is usually a sign that the unit is not receiving an adequate breath sample. This is usually caused by two factors: blowing too hard/soft and/or not blowing long enough. When the countdown reaches 0 and shows "START," blow continuously for 6 FULL SECONDS WITHOUT STOPPING through the long audible sound until you hear a click and a double beep. It is imperative that you do not stop the flow of breath until you hear a click and a double beep at the end."After reading this procedure I have had no problem at all, and the device is very accurate so far. Compared with a popular online BAC calculator, the results are almost identical. Very happy with this purchase. Another thing I would like to address is all of the reviews stating this breathalyzer is non-returnable. If you read the entire policy it states "This item in non-returnable, but if the item arrives damaged or defective, you may request a refund or replacement". That's good enough for me.

I really wanted to like this unit, but the truth is, it doesn't work. After having a couple of drinks and waiting the 20 mins (like it says to do) I blew a 0.00, then 30 seconds later I blew a .04, then after a 10 min wait, I blew a 0.00. Since I thought that it was maybe an anomaly, I had my friend do the exact same thing and she had 7 drinks, waited 20 mins and blew a 0.00. This thing is incredibly inaccurate. Do not buy!

Or waste it on a cheaper model. If you want piece of mind for your kids or you then it’s worth it. Of course they “never” drink and drive. They are always “careful”. Now it’s up to them and I’ve done my part.Bought cheaper ones. Wanted a Cheaper one when replacing them cause they weren’t working and had to replace those. At least they were trying them and I realized it’s an investment and it matters.The cheaper ones were a good intro and a party hit but that’s how we found out they weren’t correct after a couple weeks. It’s all business now and I can sleep at night. Especially with an offer of a couple mom paid Ubers when this registers above the limit. Cheaper than sacrificing their future and someone else’s.

My initial one came broken (i think due to shipping) but i was able to get a new one super easily…. and it works absolutely fantastically! it’s very easy to use and as far as i can tell the readings are extremely accurate. Just make sure that you wait a while after your last drink to take a reading or it’ll be too high :) (that’s the same as any breathalyzer though)

Bought this because I had always heard the "the legal limit is 0.08" line, but that really means nothing if you've never had your BAC tested ever in your life.At first, the results were all over the place and I even had one that read insanely high for no reason. But then I realized I had still been drinking my drink 2 minutes previous and the instructions say to wait 20 minutes after eating and drinking before testing.After that I finished my drinks and waited at least 20+ minutes before testing and did 3 tests in a row - they read 0.04, 0.039, and 0.039. Probably 25 minutes after that I did another test and got 0.038. These results seemed very consistent, so just make sure you actually follow the "no food or drinks for 20 minutes" rule if you want accurate readings.I'm guessing a lot of the more negative reviews on this thing are from people who were not following the directions, because at first I was like "what the ... why is each reading so different" until I started using it correctly.

Really good & easy to use breathalyzer. The size is perfect! Quite small, but powerful, will fit to any small handbag or even trousers pocket. Comes in with practical case and have plenty of spare mouth pieces. Definitely worth the price!
