Dorman 090-204 Oil Drain Plug - Piggyback M14-1.50

This part do works with 2005 to 2010 Mustang 5R55S automatic transmissions replacing OEM part 6R3Z-7A010-A. However, apparently Dorman only acquired partial rights to duplicate this part and designed the inner filling aperture smaller than the original part making it incompatible with Ford No. 307-437 Fluid Fill Adapter (OTC 6604). Nevertheless, take into consideration that just one of OEM part 6R3Z-7A010-A can cost you $30 and Dorman gives you 5pc here and you will need them considering that the inner Torx cap can get stuck and irretrievable (probably that's why you are seeking a replacement). All that being explained, you need a fill adapter size 5/16 with a 24 tread. So far I have found only one and is the Mityvac MVA589 ATF Refill Adapter designed for Volvos which is actually less expensive than the Ford OEM part. Amazon and your local O'Reilly sells them. Compatible with Ford 5R55S & 5R55W found on Mustangs and Explorers.

Received a box of 5. If you are buying these do not get the premade fill adapter that fits stock drain plug. The fill hole on these are different threads. Just take one the hardware store and get compression fitting hose barb that matches.

Fits perfectly

For this product to work, you have to use Teflon tape and tape must be applied so that it does not protrude into the transmission fluid area. It works for me, but I have experience with mechanics. For someone less experience I would recommend a different product.

Very good product

The OEM drain plug WILL NOT FIT this drain plug because the hole is the center (5/16) is smaller. I found that the Mityvac - ATF Refill Adapter - Volvo MVA589 works with Ford 090-204 Piggyback Drain Plg made by Dorman.
