COCONIX Black Leather & Vinyl Repair Kit for Car Seats, Couches & Furniture

I was honestly nervous to use this—or any product—on my seat. Cars are expensive, and I didn’t want to make the situation worse. That said, I’m very glad I chose this product and would definitely recommend it to others. I have a 2016 Camaro convertible that I recently acquired, and I live in the desert Southwest where the sun is extremely harsh on leather. The seats were in great shape overall but a bit dry. After conditioning them, I noticed a small crack starting to form. I wanted something that would stop the crack from getting worse, look decent, and be easy to use until I could get a professional repair. The crack wasn’t deep—it had just started—so I acted quickly. My seats are charcoal, and I went with the black kit. It comes with both black and white, making it easy to mix and match the color. You also get a lot of product, enough for multiple repairs or to keep on hand for future use. I found the color match to be spot-on for my seats. The product is easy to mix and apply. I used multiple thin layers—three in total—so I could keep the application controlled and only fill the crack without spreading product around it. I let each layer dry for about 45 minutes. I intentionally under-applied rather than over-applied since my goal wasn’t a permanent repair, just to stop the crack from spreading. Overall, I’m very pleased with the results. Even as a temporary fix, it looks really good. Most people wouldn’t notice the repair unless they were specifically looking for it. It seems to have bonded well. I haven’t noticed any further cracking, and it’s holding up nicely. I’ve also used both the heated and ventilated seat functions without any issues. The first pictures is before and second picture after. Overall, this product worked very well for me.

Well I have to say it works pretty good. It does an awesome repair in places that don’t have a lot of touching or abuse. Works fairly well in places that are often touched or flexed and abused. I mean for what it’s intended to do you can’t beat it , I’ve used several other brands and this one is far superior. I find using a little bit of superglue before applying this product it tends to help tremendously. Also I would like to say that it’s pretty cheap and they give you a ton of compound, I could fix a million tears with how much they give you , I just hope they don’t stop giving as much like a million other companies do! This is a great product. The results aren't perfect, but the repair is nearly unnoticeable and strong. There is also plenty of product included in the kit, so you can make many repairs.

So I am happy because my leather looks better than it did. However, you can definitely tell that it’s been repaired. It you aren’t expecting that it will look like new, then this would be good for you.

I accidentally punctured my Dad's leather seat in his mint condition 2004 S430 Mercedes with my screwdriver I had in my back pocket as I sat down. Good news is that it made a perfect triangle tear with one of the three triangle sides still attached. Meaning it should be an easy repair if I can find the right patching kit. This COCONIX kit was perfect. I followed instructions, cutting out the backing fabric which comes with the kit, which goes inside/backside of the leather teared hole. I then tucked the backing fabric's edges under the perimeter of the hole using one of the included plastic spatulas. Then I mixed white and black bonding paint-goo to make a nice matching charcoal black color matching the leather. I then applied the mixture using the spatula to the backing material, under the parimeter of the damaged leather and to the backside of the leather triangle tear. Basically making a glue. Then gently laying the torn leather down onto the backing fabric. Let that dry overnight and I cannot even see the tear or damage unless I look very carefully. NOTE: I did not apply the colored paste/glue/good to the top surface because I knew it wouldn't match perfectly and it would be very visible. So far the tear has not re-opened and it's looking great.

I bought this kit primarily because my son had poked a bunch of holes in our chair with a pencil. I initially was just going to leave it, but then I remembered my handbag had a scuffed leather spot, so I decided to give this a try. For the chair, it didn't hide the holes very well. That might be my own fault since I didn't follow the instructions to apply a thick layer and use crumpled plastic wrap to recreate the leather texture. If you look closely, the damage is still quite visible. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked on my handbag! It covered the scuff mark nicely, probably because the surface is smooth and the area was small. If you look really closely under direct sunlight, you can still spot a few minor flaws, so don't expect a 100% flawless result, but it's still a huge improvement. It dries very quickly. One thing to note is that it dries down to a very matte finish. I didn't want to use rubbing alcohol on it, so I ended up applying some of my own facial cream over it to add a bit of shine. Overall, a good product for minor touch-ups!

This product was pretty easy to use and color match. Problem is, it doesn't hold up. Followed all the instructions, let it dry almost 24 hours and 2 days later, the crack in my leather seat reappeared. Unless you plan on never using the item you repaired again, get it professionally fixed. This is not the miracle fix you and I hoped for.

It do what they say it will

This product is amazing. There were several areas where the surface leather had peeled away from the upholstery underneath (inexpensive couch). There were also some tears. The package comes with a generous amount of liquid and includes some small tools for applying the product that were perfect for the job. Very easy to follow instructions. After the purchase even got an email with contact information for someone to help with color matching, application or questions. Apply in several thin coats and allow several hours drying time between coats. It dries with a matte finish and a leather texture all on its own but more texture can be added by following the tips in the instructions. We used this on a black couch so didn't have to use the included mixing container to match the color. If needed you can send a picture to customer support for help with getting the right color match. After three coats the repairs are virtually invisible. You would have to know where to look to see them despite a couple of them being pretty large at about 1"x2". It feels very durable and flexes with the surrounding material. Not sure about long term but time will tell. Highly recommend.

Goede product

I have a black Chloe purse that had become very worn and discoloured from keeping in a red handbag. I wasn’t sure about this product since it doesn’t specifically say it’s to repair fading or wear. I gave The purse a light coating basically all over with the brush in the pack and I’m actually in shock about how well it came up. It literally looks like new. I took before an after photos and the difference is incredible. I would definitely recommend this over paying a fortune at a leather repair place!

Coconix is a quality product, and the kit is put together with everything you need to help repair surface leather tears. The team are extremely helpful, customer service is beyond amazing - they offer personalised repair advice, which helped me a lot. I still didn't manage to get the colour match perfect, but that's on me - I was not patient enough to keep testing and waiting for it to dry to get the perfect match as advised. But overall, I'm still very happy with the end result, the leather is not going to tear further and is protected, and looks much better than it did before. Thanks Coconix!!

Sehr gut beschrieben, wirklich einfach in der Verarbeitung, wir haben ein kleines Loch im Sofa repariert, wenn man nicht weiß an welcher Stelle es ist dann fällt es garnicht auf , genügend Material dabei so das es für mehrere kleine Reparaturen reicht
