The Shadow is the "Ego" (not evil)
I've enjoyed "The shadow effect-BOOK kindle edition", & definitely would recommend it to anyone on their path journey to embrace positive thinking, self-help, New Thought, or simply put "non-denominational Spirituality".I love the Judeo-christian divine teachings mingled with the wisdom of Easter philosophies, with a skillful "New Thought" touch so masterful, and so eloquently done by three of the most inspiring gurus of our time. Bravo!.D Chopra M.D., with his soft spoken style invites us to join Jesus & Buddha to practice the forgiveness of others and to forgive ourselves as well, to end the "Us vs them mindset" and through meditation experience the blissful benefits of pure consciousness devoid of the egotistical mindset, and therefore free of the Shadow influences.Debbie Ford invoke us to stop projecting the secretive aspects of our lifes onto others, to embrace every quality in ourselves to finally see people with empathy and compassion in brotherhood. And shared her most inner intimate life changing moments where she found that what at first seems to be some negatives aspects of ourselves, can in fact be use for good (meeting deadlines in the business world, being tough on contractors to get the job done, to speakup against tyrants, oppressors, & injustice for example) and coined them "The light shadow" or our good attributes endowed upon us by the creator. And with M. Williamson inspired by "A Course in Miracles" (A.C.I.M) dreamed of a beautiful place where "Heaven and Earth " should pass away because they be as one and the same.Their message is to overcome this world or plain of illusionary existence, by surrendering our ego minded life, and fullfiling it by knowing that we're part of a universal greater self "GOD-LOVE, Heaven, Nirvana" which has always been our truthful state of existence. The Ego, which is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity, can finally be make aware of its true existence which is divine, and always as been ONE...& which its solely purpose it is to LOVE...to shine divine light into darkness as Jesus, Buddah, & dozens of others have done so throughout human history. This book main point it's for us to embrace our "whole self" to make peace with our humanity & divinity until the day that we achieve as a collective humanity a total divine transformation instead of our current dystopian world full with injustices due to the idle inaction of the many (most of us).The shadow qualities are tools to break free oppression or abuse in domestics, social or international levels...on quote; ..."We need the combination of every hurt, loss, and unfulfilled desires blended with every joy, success and blessings to give us the wisdom, the perspective, and the drive to step into the most magnificent expression of ourselves."The Ego`s game over it's here in the Shadow effect.I've truthly enjoyed this book. Pls read it.

embracing
The Shadow Effect is a work that promotes and encourages a person to acknowledge and then embrace those areas within themselves that for various reasons they have attempted to keep hidden about themselves. The principle that to become whole, one should not deny those parts of themselves they may not be proud of or feel in some way uneasy about. Social pressures often are factors in this. Our egos are behind our need to keep hidden what can be thought of as our darker side. Image to the ego is very important. It is understood by many that a failure or purposeful denial to acknowledge any part of ourselves gives it additional power. It is also understood to change anything you must be aware of its existence, so denial will not aid a person if they seek personal growth. Denial of any part of ourselves serves to keep a person to some degree personally static. When we label and define anything, if we do so seriously, we are allowing for a life of limitations. Many label things good or bad. Our shadow side we usually label as being bad. Here again our egos are showing up for it is the ego which relies on and uses duality almost exclusively. A dualistic understanding of anything, including ourselves, never permits wholeness. This is what the authors are considering. If one wishes to return to their natural state of wholeness take a closer look at what you may be hiding or denying about yourself. Embrace it instead of denying it. It is only then a person can release it consciously if it no longer serves the person.

Find and love your true self
I loved this book. It was very interesting to read between the three authors, who all are saying the same thing, yet you can choose which speaks to you personally. It's a great jumping off point to realizing that we are all flawed but there is hope. Carl Jung first gave the Shadow a name, and as Deepak Chopra points out, the Shadow is something we all share not only individually, but with each other as if there is a giant pool we're all swimming, and sometimes drowning in together.Certainly this book doesn't give a lot of in-depth solutions. Our Shadow is too complicated to fix in just the short space each author is given in this book, but it's easy to see what speaks to us and to research further where we want to go from here. The point of this book is to show us that our fears, and insecurities are shared and that there is a concrete reason for those fears. Pointing out the Shadow starts us to looking into why we mess up our lives with such regularity, and can be the beginning of our search for freedom. Not that it's not our fault that we make bad choices, but that there is a way to change things, that there's a way towards the light if we can just look at ourselves without illusion. This book can mean the difference between living the life you want, and continuing to play the old-worn out tapes of the past that sabotage our happiness and from living the life we chose for ourselves. I believe that Shadow-work is so important and this is the kind of book that can set us on the way towards the life we really want to live. When I Dream

Unprofessional & unintelligent
Don't waste your time and money with this book. The authors never explain what they understand by "shadow", although they write about its alleged effects. Many words, no message. Unprofessional and unintelligent.
