Bought this to use with my Xbox 360 as my gaming monitor at the time had a broken HDMI port, but a working DVI port, and this worked well as a compromise. It feels sort of cheaply made, but never had any functionality issues.

This product itself seems to be of good quality and works fine. As a PRODUCT Review, 4 of 5 stars, would have no problem to recommend to others.HOWEVER:At the time that I purchased this item, the supplier was listed as follows: "Mikes Discount Supply (ETA 25 days from Hong Kong)", and I was completely fine with that. But then, after already having waited an ACTUAL SEVEN+ WEEKS from the time it was supposedly shipped, I received a notice in my mailbox that I had a 'Registered Letter' requiring signature and, because I had not been present when delivery had first been attempted, I now had to try and find some time in my very demanding schedule to then make a special trip to our local post office to pick it up.Well ... In my experience, most items that are sent 'Registered' or 'Certified' are most often reasonably important and not generally very pleasant and this caused me to have severe anxiety from the Thursday evening when I had arrived home and picked up my mail with this notification in it, clear until the next Wednesday (over the weekend+) when I was finally able to get over to the post office to be able to pick it up.***NEVER IN MY WILDEST DREAMS WOULD I HAVE EVER SUSPECTED THAT A SIMPLE, STATIC, $4.00 ELECTRONIC ADAPTER WOULD HAVE BEEN SENT 'REGISTERED' REQUIRING SIGNATURE***So ... While I would most certainly purchase this same product FROM A DIFFERENT VENDOR again if another were needed, I WILL MAKE A VERY SPECIAL EFFORT FROM NOW ON TO NEVER AGAIN PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM 'MIKES DISCOUNT SUPPLY' NOW THAT I KNOW WHAT A COMPLETE NUICENCE IT IS TO CONDUCT BUSINESS WITH THEM.(Completely unnecessary to have sent this item 'Registered' requiring signature! What could have possibly motivated them to have sent it this way?!?!)Once again ... If you're able to find THIS PRODUCT from some other supplier, then by all means buy it. But because of this experience, I recommend avoiding 'Mikes'.

This is a review of the Importer520 Gold Plated Female to DVI – D Male Video Adapter.Summary – This is an adapter that interconnects DVI D Male to HDMI female. This will work in either direction. So you can connect an HDMI to DVI or vice versa. I have this plugged into a USB to DVI video converter adapter and have an HDMI cable connecting my adapter to my monitor. This is working flawlessly as expected and I would recommend. It is also very reasonably priced making this an easy decision.NotesThese adapters will not transfer any audio and only transfers video signals.If your adapter has pins above and below the flat blade, then it will handle analog and or both analog-digital pending the remainder of pin setup.Here is a quick easy to read way of knowing the various DVI types.DVI – I This DVI type can use digital and analog within the same adapter.DVI – D This DVI type is limited to digital signals.DVI – A This DVI type is limited to analog signals.All three of these can be single or dual link.Single Link – Can support resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 at 60hz.Dual Link – These adapters contain additional pins which allow resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 at 60hz.ProsSolid adapter that works well.This uses gold plated contacts for excellent signal transfer.This has slots in the thumb screws if you wish to snug up your connections and ensure they do not become loose.Connections are firm and snug.ConsOne star was removed as I ordered this particular adapter as I liked the design with gold hardware – screws and this is not what I received. The photo should reflect the adapter being shipped. The listing even had two types shown in the listing and none of these matched the one received.

This item took a long time to ship (about 1 month - shipped from Malaysia). The packaging was fine, but the adapter itself clearly had visual signs of poor craftsmanship. The screws on the side were very short and were not long enough to actually screw into the slots (you can see in the pictures I've added that the screws are shorter than the male DVI piece). This really wasn't a problem though as it attached to the tv just fine without having to screw it in. On the female HDMI end, there was also a little bit of the black plastic that was kind of over the opening, but it didn't seem to affect anything (sorry forgot to take a picture of the part). I can't say as to how well the item actually works because I purchased this specifically to use with the Amazon Fire Stick I purchased. My tv does not have an HDMI port and so I thought I could use this HDMI to DVI adapter; unfortunately, after receiving this item I discovered that the Fire Stick does NOT support DVI. =( Of course I got this item 3 days after the return period for the Fire Stick had expired. =*( Anyway, I initially thought that the problem was with this adapter (considering all the visual imperfections), and so I contacted the seller and informed them that the product did not work. They responded very quickly and offered to either replace the item (which would have taken another month) or a full refund (they specified that I would NOT need to return the damaged item). So while I can not verify whether the item itself is as much of a bargain as it seems - I decided to write this review because the customer service was excellent (thus the 4 stars).

Solid and does it's job. Only gave four stars because it is still too soon to comment on durability.

This adapter is inexpensive but works great. I am so happy to have an upgraded video adapter with HDMI port.

Great item, fits well and works as expected. Added bonus that if you have capable vid card will transmit the audio over HDMI too. I was expecting to have to use a separate optical cable, but it wasn't needed int he end. If you have a DVI card that you are trying to connect to a TV via HDMI this will do the trick.
