Product is unusable unless you are blind - DO NOT BUY!!!!
Amazon is substituting a narrated version of The Amazing Spiderman. The voice over telling you everything that is happening on screen is not mentioned in the product write up and it spoils the movie for me, a non-visual-challenged person. And Amazon makes it nearly impossible to return or replace the product with a normal version. Hopefully someone will pay attention to this write-up and contact me. I am bummed about being out $14 for a video that I can't enjoy.

Liked the Original
I'm a Big Bang Theory fan and have started checking out the super heroes they always reference on the show. I bought this movie in 3D along with the triple feature DVD set with Toby McGuire. I watched the DVD's first, then this one. As with the McGuire's Spiderman, story slow to build. The 3D wasn't that great, a little disappointing. 3D during action scenes were better, otherwise just OK. Acting was good, but I had just watched Tobey's Spiderman and they changed the story so much. I realize they are setting up the mystery over his parents for future movies, but I like Tobey's movies better. I also didn't care for Emma Stone for some reason. After watching Tobey's Spiderman, this movie was a bit of a let down for me. I would also like to add the bluray disk wouldn't load and froze. Kept saying that function not permitted/supported when I pressed play. 3D worked great.

A parent's review
This movie is decent for kids. There is no profanity. There is lots of action.I would not pay for this to watch it for my own use. There are a lot of questions that the director might have asked "How the fresh hell can we sell this to someone?" and in answering them he might have closed some of the gaping holes in this. (But then, my sons are 4 and 7 years old and they loved this. So, I am forced to conclude that this movie was made for children under 10.)1. Peter Parker was shown with bruises all the time, but if he could have been damaged he would not have have lived through his fights with the Green Goblin.2. The place from which he got the Spider Bite that made him what he was must have been the World's Least Secure Secret Research Facility.3. The spider webs were not something that he could make himself, but he just happened to have come across the technology that he needed to travel across the city by spider webs?Verdict: Not recommended for anyone over 10. I would pay about $3 for this movie to keep my kids quiet for a couple of hours.

Best of the Spiderman Movies
First off, if you don't like DC or Marvel then this isn't for you. Also, I didn't buy a digital DVD because I can watch it whenever I want... Spiderman gets remade every 8 years or so. I've seen the last three plus their sequels. While some of the sequels have been great, and all the Spiderman movies are worth watching at least once, this was my favorite. I find the character playing Spiderman in this movie to be more relatable than other Spiderman characters. I like his Aunt and Uncle more. I think this a movie that 8+ can like while offering a little more seriousness to the decisions being made and more of an adult reasoning behind the decisions made rather than the more kid-like lens that some Spiderman characters. Every Spiderman movie has plot holes as does every DC and Marvel movie, but relatable characters of good character faced with hard decisions and making a whole lot of right ones is something this movie does well.

Surprisingly enjoyable, if short-lived.
The Amazing Spider-Man is a surprisingly enjoyable and a solid opening to a modern take on Spider-Man, however brief it might have been given that the sequel flopped and paved the way for Spider-Man's inclusion into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. My biggest problem that I have with this film is Andrew Garfield's take on Peter Parker as a whole. The Peter has plays in this film is largely bratty and a egocentric annoying loser that luckily grew over the course of the movie, but I still found his portrayal to be cringe worthy at times.Emma Stone is delightful as Gwen Stacy, and she is not just a damsel in distress that simply stands around to look pretty and for Peter to lust and obsess over. She has her own character strengths that help Peter grow as an individual over the course of the film and ultimately it is her assistance that proves vital to victory. Without her, Spider-Man would not have been able to win the final confrontation. The overall bad guy, The Lizard, is a little cartoonish. His human characterization is top notch and thrilling to watch, but his motivations and characterization once he fully transforms into the villain really just make him a clunky over the top CGI menace with cartoonish goals and a cartoonish way to achieve them. I would have much preferred that he had retained his human characterization as the acting and direction was so much better.Denis Leary was a surprisingly great character in this film despite the role he was cast in. He has to play the 'cop hunting Spider-Man' and 'protective, suspicious dad' role and overall he does a great job in a role that could have been ultimately hamfisted. His character undergoes growth throughout the film and has a satisfying conclusion that has lasting ramifications across the next film.Bonus points to Martin Sheen as a much more down to earth and relatable Uncle Ben. He's a demanding yet caring father figure and not portrayed as so old as to be decrepit as he was in the Raimi films. There's a power and believability in the character's portrayal, a roughness that doesn't hold him up as the ultimate paragon of right and wrong. He's just a working man taking care of a family and dealing with the very real realities of everything that entails. He's harsh and confrontational to Peter when Peter screws up, but in the end just wants to protect Peter, Aunt May and the lives they have and do the right thing. You know how Uncle Ben's story ends, it's one of those stories that has seeped into the modern zeitgeist. Batman's parents always die, Superman is an alien, Captain America is entirely pure and Uncle Ben always has to die.I just really appreciated how it was done in this film.Overall I enjoyed this movie a LOT more than I expected to. I'm not the biggest Spider-Man fan in the world and having already known the problems that Amazing Spider-Man 2 had and it's failings before ever seeing this film made me a little pessimistic. I'd also seen and greatly enjoyed the current take on Spider-Man in the MCU, and had seen the original Sam Raimi films when they'd released and cringed at all three of them. SO I hadn't been expecting much from this film but found myself really enjoying this short lived modernization of The Amazing Spider-Man.

Amazing Spidey....
Another Spiderman movie, another spiderman franchise and another person playing spiderman. But oddly after the 70's spiderman movies, then the Toby Mcguire movies, you would think this would be the same old. In fact its fresher, cleaner and more fun to watch than all the others before it. This movie is hard hitting, fast paced and well made. Time to choose.....!

Very underrated Spiderman movie.
This is actually one of my favourite Spiderman movies and certainly far better than Spiderman 3 and the Spiderboy Tom Holland movie, in my opinion, and this is probably the most faithful movie depiction of the Web slinger, and thought the soundtrack was good also, so i don't really understand some peoples negativity towards this movie.

Amazing indeed.
I really enjoyed this. I'm a fan of superhero films anyway, though I'm not specifically a Spidey fan. I felt fairly unenthusiastic about the previous Spider-Man trilogy and by the third one I kind of hated Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker. So when this reboot came along I didn't expect much, especially a reboot of a franchise so recently done-to-death.Turns out, I really enjoyed it.Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker is an updated version of the classic comic-book version. And I think that went a long way to making him much more relatable for me. The storyline is really well paced and whereas the previous Spider-Man often felt somewhat indulgent, this one is lean and mean in all the right places. It doesn't over-use CGI, and plays a nice hand with the way Spider develops through the inevitable "discovering powers" scenes.Another comparison is the one-off-love between Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker and MJ, andAndrew Garfield's Peter Parker and Gwen. Maguire's Parker made me want to slap him, repeatedly. Garfield's Parker made me genuinely feel like this guy was having to make some tough choices during/after a period of turmoil.

The Amazing Spider-Man (Blu-ray 3D + UV Copy) [2012] [Region Free] AMAZING INDEED!
I have loved Sam Raimi films ever since I first watched “Evil Dead”, So I was very thrilled to hear that he would direct the Spiderman film (2002), I was excited and he delivered, Spiderman 2 is actually my favorite, but Spiderman 3 was not too good, So with the collapse of Spiderman 4 and 5 during pre – production, Raimi walked away, So then Marc Webb directs the Reboot, honestly they have been a lot of Negative’s and Positives being thrown around about the reboot, but I liked it, Webb did a very good Job with this, the 3D is not the best out there, but it ain’t the worst either, story wise I felt it was well paced. The Blu-Ray package is very nice, it consists of 2 Blu Ray discs, the second Blu Ray disc is packed with features, this is what is not specified here on Amazon, the first disc of this set has both the 3D and 2D versions of the movie, they are both on the same disc, just pop it in and select the version you want. The Video is flawless, Crisp and Very detailed, The Audio is well timed and detailed too.SPECIFICATIONSVideoCodec: MPEG-4 MVCResolution: 1080pAspect ratio: 2.40:1Original aspect ratio: 2.39:1AudioEnglish: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1French: Dolby Digital 5.1Spanish: Dolby Digital 5.1SubtitlesEnglish, English SDH, French, SpanishDiscs50GB Blu-ray Disc2 Disc set (2 BD's)UV digital copy

Smart, action-packed, well-acted film, well-written film
I really liked this film. More story focused than love interest focused than the Sam Raimi films. Yeah - if you want a smart, action-packed, well-acted film, well-written film then you should buy this blu ray which for me cost around £2,50.
