Great 3rd party lens hood!
Was looking for a lens hood for my Canon 17-55 lens and ended up finding this for really cheap, I was worried it would be crappy and not grip onto the lens well, but to my surprise it was better than I thought! Fits just right with no rattle! But I do got to say I think the hood is just a bit larger than the Canon brand hood for this lens but taking a few photos with it its still out of the lens FOV, but I can't say the same with other 77mm filter size lenses. Just get this! :b

Perfect on the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 USM Lens
I just HAD to leave the shortest easiest review I could. I have a Canon 90D with a Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 USM Lens and this FIT PERFECTLY. It is the snuggest fit, with zero wobble. It fits perfectly when it's on, and reversed for storage. Good quality materials that feel solid. That's all you need to know.I have purchased about 5-8 hoods overall in my life. All 3rd party. I am quite particular in what I want. I hope this helped you! Cheers!

Does the job.
After purchasing a 17-40L lens I learned that with the 1.6 crop body cameras, the stock hood for that lens didn't work very well to prevent flare. So I did a little research and found that this hood would work for it and cause no vignetting. This is true, after months of use, I have not had any issues with vignetting and also less issues with flare than I would have expected with the stock lens hood.I only have a few complaints. This hood fits really tightly on the lens hood mount. It is to be expected that it wouldn't be perfect since this is a third party manufacturer. Also, unlike the canon hoods, this one doesn't have the felt lined interior which leads you to feeling it is of lower quality, but it is a matte finish on the inside.Overall, it saves you around 20 dollars to forgo purchasing the canon brand, but you might find yourself wishing you had gotten the other one if the tight fit and build quality become issues for you.

Fits Snugly and Costs Considerably Less than Canon Hood
This is the 3rd hood I've purchased for my Canon 17-55mm EF-S lens. The previous two were genuine Canon hoods. The first one got knocked off on a sampan tour on the Mekong River and floated away before we could reach for it. The second one shattered on the street near Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris when my husband dropped the camera. Fortunately, it probably saved the camera lens from any more serious damage. But the cost of hoods was really adding up, since the Canon versions are so pricey. So I decided to try a non-Canon model this time. It fits snugly and isn't likely to get knocked off easily. It does the job for a fraction of the cost of a Canon hood, so the next time it gets damaged I won't wince at the cost of replacement...

Not as good as Canon
So...another "not as good as canon" review.Canon costs a lot more. It's generally better built. You pay for that. I wish now that I did. This one works but it's not as snug as a Canon, and it won't go on backwards for storage the way a Canon would. I find that I am constantly re-twisting it straight from getting bumped out of alignment. A little gaff tape fixes that, but gaff tape is just a hack.It works, it fits, it's not quite as perfectly fit or nicely finished as the fully branded version.

Three Stars
Works good. Much cheaper then Canons. A little loose but it will do.

Good value compared to Canon's hood
The hood is a good value compared to Canon's $70 version but I constantly think I'm going to break it because it's pretty flimsy. Functions well nevertheless.

Fine, but a bit cheap
Works exactly as advertised, but the fit is a bit tight. The plastic feels a bit cheap compared to the Canon hood that came with my 70-200L. The inside plastic is not shiny, but it is not particularly light-absorbing. Works fine, and I'd buy it again given how much cheaper it is than the Canon one.
