I'm a musician but found reed instruments more difficult to play.i wouldn't recommend this for beginners. you need to bite down on the reed to make sounds, and the lauout style of the instrument is more difficult than a traditional flute type.Overall i think this is still a good instrument for a fair price. for anyone exploring instruments and sounds this is worth trying

My son bought this with his own money because he wanted to learn to play a reed instrument. This did not work at all. We looked at the instructions, watched a youtube video on playing a similar instrument, switched out reeds, and still not a peep. We're disappointed with this purchase.

Could have included better instructions. Reed should not have been attached to instrument due to COVID19. Reed should have been in unopened packaging as this has to go in the mouth!

Mouthpiece was poorly made. Time is required to smooth and reform for proper reed fitting. Better to replace with a saxophone mouthpiece.

Was supposed to come with two reeds. Came with one, it was split. No dental padding at all.

This saxophone I received appears to be already used. The cane reed was already on the mouthpiece and another reed is black synthetic. Both reed are way to stiff to play. The ligature is cheaply made and already bent up. This is more like a toy plastic recorder I played when I was in grade school.

In excellent condition.
