UPDATE: Just ordered another engraved set for my oldest grandson to replace a set I ordered for him last year from a different seller. That set came in a damaged box and it couldn't be engraved, due to the coating on the pen/pencil. There was nothing in the description stating that when I purchased it and even though it was not engraved, they would not let me return it when I couldn't find anyone to engrave it. But with this seller, I cannot say enough good things! The orders are shipped quickly, the engraving is beautiful, and the customer service is outstanding. I have 2 more sets to purchase for graduations, and will only order from this seller. These instruments last for decades and have real value. I opted to engrave the pen and pencil with the name of the recipient. I ordered well in advance because of the lead time for the engraving. I received the gift set within a few days. I was very pleased with the style options and the attention to the engraving.

This set was heftier then I expected, and since it was for a man, that worked out well. It would work equally well for a woman, just not ultra slim. Both pen and pencil write nicely, and the engraving was great.
