17" Laptop Cooling Pad with Dual Fans, USB-A Powered Chill Mat for MacBook & Notebook up to 17-Inch, Adjustable Height, Black/Grey (AWE55GL)

As I have a one or other laptop on my knee for a lot of the day (both work and personal use) I needed something to keep my legs cool. I was previously using a plain wooden board about the size of the laptop base. It helped, especially as it made sure the laptop fans were not blocked by clothing, but could still get very warm on my legs. I had looked several times for an alternative but the cushion sort still transmit heat to the legs, and I don't have space for a the mini table sort (and also thought they might be too high for comfortable typing for long hours. This is about the width of my 15.6" laptop and a little deeper and so fits perfectly. I don't want/need space for a mouse as I use that on the arm of the chair). I think a 17" laptop would over hang the sides. Even without the fans on it keeps my legs nice and cool as air can flow easily under the laptop. When I've heard my laptop fans spin up faster I've tried plugging in the fans on this and they are quieter than the laptop at that point. I wasn't even sure they were running the first time I tried. When they are running I actually start feeling a slight chill in my hands above the keyboard as the air movement increases. I'm yet to try on a day with several meetings, but I feel confident it will still keep my legs cool. I don't think this would help much if you have a laptop which is struggling to stay within it's correct working temp range. Better to make sure it's own fans are operating correctly and are not clogged with dust. However it's perfect for making the laptop comfortable to use on your lap. The USB cable to plug it in can come out either side to match your laptop USB ports and there is a clip on both side to hold it when not in use. I dislike messy cables about, but this tucks away nicely. All in all, I'm very pleased with this and it's the best solution for the way I use my laptop.

Does an excellent job. My laptop works hard every day and this mat sits quietly underneath it keeping everything cooler. If you try hard you can hear it whirring but it's a fan, it has to whirr to work but it is in no way intrusive. Highly recommended

if you don't use headphones, the noise from this cooling pad may become a bit annoying, however this did not affect me that much as i always use headphones. overall, it kept my laptop about 9 or 10 degrees cooler than it usually runs when gaming, so it served its purpose well, although the decrease on temperature may also vary depending on the laptop. you still need to find the correct position for your laptop on the pad for the best cooling. (for my laptop it was best about 2 inches from the bottom of the cooling pad.) overall i did find this product to be a benefit to my laptop, and will be a benefit so long as it is not used in a dusty environment. if dust is blown into the laptop it can damage components and heat sensors, a common danger among cooling pads. overall i would reccommend this product as it is very effective for the price. id give it an 8 or 9 out of 10.

Does the job well. Keeps my gaming laptop a bit cooler and it's not as noisy as I thought it would be. It keeps the laptop in place well, without it slipping (and my laptop is quite heavy). It fits well and comfortably on my lap, lifting the laptop just right, preventing my neck from getting sore. The only thing that would make it perfect would be if it wasn't made of plastic as it makes it a bit 'flimsy'. When lifting it up with the laptop on I have to do it carefully as the cooling tray feels bendy, with the weight on, but apart from that it's great. For that price you can't really expect some sort of an amazing cooling system anyway.

Excellent product. I should have bought one much earlier. My laptop batteries never get hot or even warm when this device is connected to it. I use it all the time now. Great to use with the laptop on your knees when watching TV, no more heat on my legs. Great angle as well, very pleased with this product.

The product works perfectly as intended, it keeps it comfy for lap use and raised enough for good cooling on a desk/table. The problem comes when you plug-in the 2 fan, clearly low quality ones as they don't spin that fast but they make a constant very annoying noise that could have been avoided with good bearing fans, and sadly this ones cant be replaced without breaking the pad nor controlled via usb/wheel/somehow.

I've tried several laptop trays and this is the best that I've tried. The fans in it work brilliantly at helping to keep the laptop cool (they blow upwards out of the tray). The USB cord can be fed through either side in case you want to plug it into a specific side of your laptop. Works well with laptops upto and including 17". It's very light but the slightly padded back ensures it doesn't slip around, and the rubber pads on the top do the same for your laptop.

Stand fits my 17" laptop well. Two cooling fans are fixed speed but are quiet and definitely help my laptop stay cooler, provided your laptop cooling intakes are at the rear of the case. Non-slip rubber stops on top help the laptop stay stable but it needs the same on the bottom. On a wooden or laminate desktop, the stand slides around too easily. This is fine if it is sitting on your lap but I'll be adding stick on rubber feet to prevent it being able to move too easily.

This pad is very simple and elegant, well made, and quiet. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with only one caveat: Make sure the cooling intake slots on the bottom of your laptop are closer to the rear of the laptop than the front. The pad's fans are mounted near the rear edge and may not provide airflow into your laptop if your intake vents are situated below the fans. I had this situation with a big Asus laptop and regrettably had to return the pad and go with a different one. I really would have preferred this one but didn't feel the airflow path was optimal for my situation.

Took it out of the amazon bag and it felt like it barely had any weight. It's the thinnest plastic you could find. I hope it's sturdier than it looks and feels bu I doubt it. Not sure if we'll keep it, it feels like it breaks easily.

M’a permis d’éviter de devoir remplacer la pâte thermique sur mon vieux MacBook Pro mid 2009 car l’opération est un peu compliquée. Je combine avec Macs Fan Control et plus de surchauffe. Très confortable pour l’utilisation dans mon fauteuil 😊

J'utilise mon pc portable principalement affalé sur un canapé ou dans un lit (avec ou sans couverture) et ce socle est juste parfait ! 1. Léger. 2. Souple juste ce qu'il faut et résistant. 3. Super pratique quand la surface n'est pas rigide (couette, pled ou autre). 4. Antidérapant efficace pour le pc. 5. Revêtement tout doux pour le reste (type tapis de souris en tissus). 6. Refroidissement par ventilateur au besoin (alimenté via USB classique, par la droite ou par la gauche) avec clip de rangement pour le connecteur USB si non utilisé. 7. Ventilateurs un poil bruyant mais peu gênant, mais si vous en avez l'utilité c'est que votre pc et sûrement déjà en train de faire pas mal de bruit. 8. Refroidissement efficace si votre pc aspire l'air frais par le bas (comme la majorité). 1er socle pc que je recommanderais les yeux fermés.
