As another reviewer noted, there are no instructions for how to use these patterns. They are simple black lines in the pdf; what would have been the difficulty to put lines directing to what areas needed what yarn number? Many images - while really lovely - were confusing to sort what colour went where, and the photographs were muddy and confusing. If I wanted to "wing it", I would use clipart. Will return and just access patterns from DMC website - which are complete with instructions including how many strands to use.

Love the designs and the photos of the finished embroideries. The color placement drawings are helpful but stitch placement is not specified. However, there are close-ups of details and excellent step by step instructions for the stitches used.
