My Life as a Gamer (The My Life series, 5) Hardcover – April 7, 2015

My fourth grader enjoys reading it. This is a great book for (3rd, 4th, 5th, & 6th graders). Print is as always large and as usual few new vocabulary introduced in the book, and stick figures drawing on the side of each page. I would say if you are new to this series start with the first book. Anyway, without giving away too much plot I was say nothing major happens with the Monkey or the Dog, and I think most fans of the book wants to know more about the pets. I wish this book had more story line that reflects on dog's health, but it didn't. Derek is having fun with his new adventure each Saturdays, and he learns an important lesson on keeping secrets and important of keeping information confidential especially if signed and agreed upon it. His mom is still busy working next door at her clinic and dad is home a lot.IT was a good read, and the only reason I didn't give five stars because the story could have developed more on the suspense on who leaked the information from the gaming company, or on Derek's dad's job hunt, etc. I hope there will be more books coming in this series.

My 10 year old son really liked this book and he only really reads because he has to for homework lol but this one he actually read on his own time

I read this having bought it for my 10 year old granddaughter. She read it and recommended it to me. I thoroughly enjoyed it although at times the language was not quite for a 10 year old. I realize the book is for an older group. However -- the moral of the story, and the points made in it were excellent and the story engaging. We both loved the cartoons. Well done! We're reading all in the series.

It’s to short with not a lot of details it could have improvements but relationships in a video game book. Good book need improvement

Also all of the other books she has rote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And I promise that you will love and I mean love this book.

Was not a graphic novel for grade schooler

My 11 year old loves this book.

My 8 year old loves this book and is already asking for the other books in the series. They are pretty well written and enjoyable - think Diary of a Wimpy Kid for the way it reads and is laid out.

My 11 year old boy loved this book. He recommends it and I like to buy him books to encourage reading so will buy others in the series.

Fabulous book for reluctant readers.
