National Geographic Bird-watcher's Bible: A Complete Treasury

Bought this for my wife as she likes to relax on the patio and watch and identify the many birds on the golf course behind us. We have plants and flowers to attract them, hummer feeders, so the yard is full of birds. This book makes it easy to identify the species we see. Many, just like the one on the cover, come flying through. Near the ocean so get species from there. Have everything from parrots, sea gulls, egrets, wild peacocks, hawks, owls, hummers, etc.

My son loves this book. The illustrations are great and it’s full of interesting information. My 9 year old son really enjoys this book.

Very good book. It explains the meaning and origin of the birds English and Latin names.

I heard Laura Erickson review this book on her show "For the Birds". She loved the book and so do I. It contains a wealth of information and the photography and drawings are fantastic. Well worth the money and of the caliber you would expect from National Geographic.

and not much of anything.I'm not sure who this book will appeal to.I cannot believe there's much in it for a learned bird lover.And you will find little to help you identify that bird in your backyard.I suggest, unlike me, you read the table of contents before deciding to purchase.Or better yet leaf through it. The pictures are nice.And keep in mind your purchase helps support the National Geographic Society.

I am a new birder (year and a half) and this book is so full of delightful information it is a real pleasure to read. As well as the interesting details, written in a very easy reading format, this book has some fabulous illustrations. A great find for anyone who loves birds.
