Tip is hollow, fails after 2-3 months
Unfortunately the tip does not last as long as I had hoped. After a few 2-3 months of use, the tip wears out and fails to provide the needed heat. It suddenly started losing its ability to heat up as fast as before, that's when I analyzed the tip and to my surprise, it was hollow, see photo. I had a backup which I'm using but that will likely fail soon so I have to get another. These are advertised as long lasting tips, but even my other cheap station tips lasted a full year under similar use. Sorry METCAL, your station is great (so far) but your tips don't last.
