Eddington Italian Olive Wood Salad Server, Handcrafted in Europe, 2-Piece Set, 13-Inches

These are beautiful. They are smooth and just the right length and durable. I bought them for myself but they are definitely suitable for a nice housewarming gift.

I just received the 13" Olive Wood Salad Set and am delighted with the look, feel, smell and sight of both pieces. I can't wait to use them (or maybe I'll just put them on display in my kitchen). The Olive Wood is so gorgeous that I'm now searching out an Olive Wood bowl to match. I also ordered the 10" and 12" Olive Wood Spoons  HIC Harold Imports Olive Wood Spoon 12-Inch  - and they're just perfect too. PS. I just added the 13.5" Spoon to my wish list - you should too!

I misread the description and am not sure what to do with a wooden spoon this small. It does however appear well made and durable.

I was looking for tongs to match a darker salad bowl I have... they were as pictured, kind of, so I oiled then as they appeared a bit dry... I don't know woods enough to be able to identify them all so if they are not the actual wood I wouldn't be able to tell you, but they are thin and very light ... That may be correct for this kind of wood. But I do wish they were heavier and more substantial.

The tongs are great! They're comfortable to hold and use, really easy to wipe clean if you're using them for multiple steps in the cooking process and don't want to entirely wash them. But they do wash very easily as well! They're a good length to toss and turn salads, and I was able to flip things in a pan with them as well- they grab items nicely. They're streamlined and fit nicely in my crowded utensil drawer!

My husband likes it for fishing olives out of a jar. Works great.

I first saw this in store and thought it could be nice because it felt really heavy and made of good wood. And I like the size very much. But once I received and used it, I notice that it wasn't sealed well at all. Once you wash it, the wood color changed after it's dried. And the worst thing is, you can taste the wood as it has really strong smell after soak in liquid. I don't think it's good for cooking. Not recommend.
