As someone who enjoys his coffee black & generally from a filter machine, I find this to be a positive. It's good "sipping coffee", a real all-day drinker. You can very much perceive the lack of bitterness that (let's be honest) is the thing a lot of people like about coffee & that's why I think many people rubbish this whole kopi luwak process. Yes it's a total gimmick but yes, it does affect the taste of the coffee. Mileage will vary (according to personal taste) as to whether that is to it's benefit or detriment. Personally I prefer the organic, Galapagos grown bean I get from my local roasters.
