Did the job, weak nail
Purchased for bedroom furniture after installing hardwood floors. I turned the legs upside down to add the pads and hammered into a prefab hole. I threw about 5 of these away because one wrong hit and the nail bent. My advice, make sure you buy a few more than you actually need, but they will get the job done.

Sturdy snd Easy
These are as well-made as everyone says they are, and the package arrived in just a few days. I used them on 8 counter-height dining chairs, 1 counter-height dining table, 1 wicker bedroom chair, and 1 piano bench. I used another reviewer's recommendation to use a 1/16th drill bit. It is a tad large for this application, but if you go in just a quarter inch with it, then you can get a tighter fit. The piano bench was the only piece that had some sliders already on it--from maybe 50 or 60 years ago--and the holes were somewhat large. I used some wood glue to backfill the holes and just spread some around the rest of the slider coverage area. That seems to have worked. The wicker chair is about 10 years old, and I was afraid it might be either too soft to hold or too brittle, but that came out just fine, too. One thing I did have to amend was the coloring on the bottom of the chairs and table. I noticed that the feet are beveled and that part is not stained. This really shows up when they are lifted off the ground, so I used a furniture marker to color that part. Also I should mention that I did use 2 cardboard templates I made for the dining chairs, one for the back legs and one for the front. I put a hole in the paper and used a marker to mark my target. I felt I had to be accurate because the feet are barely 1 inch across, so I did not want anything hanging out. And this turned out to be a good time to tighten anything that needed it, so have those tools handy. I am making it sound like a bigger project than it was. Actually just did it in the living room with a favorite DVD on. Went quickly.

Sturdy and protective
My chairs are quite heavy and the pads I have put on in the past soon failed - they came unglued or the pressure from the chairs compressed them to the point where they weren't protecting the floor. These pads were easy to install, especially after I thought to make a small pilot hole with my drill to help them go in at the desired spot. They fit very securely and, after being used for several weeks, they show no sign of weakness.

Nails bend easily
Good idea but the nails are too flimsy

This product should be in every store!
It is a shame this product is not in stores like Menards and Home Depot. When I asked in those stores for nail-in glides with felt bottoms, all I got was a puzzled look as if what I was asking for did not exist. When you buy any nice wooden folding chairs, they typically come with plastic glides, which assumes you are going to use them on carpeting. For those of us with hard wood floors, we are stuck putting felt pads on the bottoms of the chair legs and hoping they stay on or risk having our floors get scratched. The product was easy to install. I had plastic glides on my chairs and tapped them out with a hammer and a screwdriver. The holes were the right size for the new glides so I just gently tapped those in with the side of the hammer to avoid any chance that the nail would bend or go through the felt. The felt pad is very dense, so once installed properly you will not have to worry about the nail going through the pad.If you have no holes on the bottom of your legs, just make sure you pre-drill and you will not have any problems. This was a great find, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone!

Great product, and you *should* always pre-drill your holes (with these or any other nail-on glide!)
Excellent interaction with vendor (even provided installation tips!) Hoping to install soon but don't anticipate any issues.General FYI to folks from my past experiences with glides: even though these are nail-on you should pre-drill the holes using a bit smaller than the nail. Most wooden chairs are made of hardwood; to drive a nail into it requires a lot of force which can absolutely damage the insulated pad of the glide (I've done it before) or you risk splitting the wood and damaging the furniture. Pre-drilling will eliminate the excessive force necessary to successfully drive them in and allow the glides to do their job. I have not seen (nor do I think it is possible) to produce a 1-piece glide inherently strong enough to take a full impact of a non-drilled hole into hardwood and survive well enough to protect your floors effectively. Be patient, don't drill any more than necessary (you want them very snug, but you shouldn't have to pound them hard.) Every leg varies so you might want to experiment with drill bit sizes, starting small and working your way incrementally larger till you find the balance of nail-drivability and snugness. Oh, and order a few extra in case there is a learning curve. ;-)
