Adorable Addition to Christmas Village, Stellar Quality, Wish it Lit Up
Bought this to add to my Christmas village this year and I love it! Department 56 has the highest quality village pieces with near perfect paint jobs and detailing and this piece is no exception. It features a Jolly Santa in his sleigh pulled by his reindeer flying high above the trees. Assembly is minimal - you just hook the reindeer/Santa piece into the skinny black metal wire and then put it into the base, which allows it to spin and make the reindeer/sleigh fly. It flies silently and doesn't make any grinding sounds.The only thing I wish is that there were working lights in the trees or sounds for the price. Other than that, I am very happy with it and my 6 year old loves seeing Santa and his reindeer fly.

Very fun to watch fly over village
It takes more room than I thought for Santa and reindeer to complete their circle so had to rearrange the display. Not hard to put together but no directions. Overall I really find it fun and enjoyable to watch. Have had several compliments on Santa’s addition to the Christmas Village.

Runs backwards!
The item is very cute. Mechanically works well. Only runs backward. It is possible to turn Santa around but it is not as sturdy that way.

Santa and all 8 Reindeer
If you are a stickler for Santa and all 8 reindeer - not 4 or 6 like you usually get - then this is a great Christmas decoration you'll want to buy! An earlier version had Santa standing on the back of a sleigh - this one has him sitting in the classic style.

I love it. It’s not ‘perfect’ as the trees do not sit straight. However- the flying Santa is special to add to my village.

Do not buy this product. No quality control.
This animated Dept 56 Santa sleigh was just delivered and I am SO disappointed! When I unpacked it, the ceramic base is not attached to the motor housing and slides right off. Also, there are NO grips on the bottom, so the weight of the cord and the vibration of the animation move the unit. It is destined to vibrate off the table and break. I can either pay for repairs and keep it or pack it back up and return it, neither of which appeals to me. What a huge waste of my money. DO NOT buy this item. I have many Dept 56 village pieces and accessories and am noticing their quality has greatly diminished over the years. Do not waste your money! I’m sad and disappointed in this purchase.

Santa flying backwards/
The hook up for Santa and Reindeer makes the sleigh go backwards. Would have sent back, however past the time to due so. Had to re format the wire bar to attach to the base. For the price not happy.
