id 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT {Speed Demons}

Bought this as a gift for nephew. Glad to find it available on Amazon and for a good price. Nephew was having 11th birthday and requested this, so would be a good gift for that age if your looking for a gift for near that age.

Like most of the Hot Wheels ID Lineup, this casting is gorgeous. Despite being a gray painted car, its paint is done in a high quality spectra flame and shines in all light. Headlight and taillight detail is also well executed. The car looks great on the ID app after you scan it with your phone.

My 10 year old son loved these this Christmas! He’s never heard of hot wheels ID so it was extra special. He enjoyed loading the cars and racing them online. We did have some issues with getting the cars to load on the website. But after several tries, it worked.

The Merecedes AMG GT is a really nice looking Hot Wheels car. I opted to display the car without its orginal packaging.

You get the car with an ID chip on the bottom/ if you download the app it’s really fun for kids to see ‘their car’ racing in the screen. App is free.

This Hot Wheels ID 2016 Mercedes AMG GT car is one of the How Wheels range and is something of a looker with it's metallic body, "alloy" wheels, tints and go-faster stripe. It is solidly constructed and with the quality one expects from this renowned toy range of toys. But these cars in the "ID" range are more than just another model to add to the collection - you can download the Hotwheels ID app and scan in the unique details of your individual car, thus creating a virtual version in a virtual garage to run on a virtual track. You can of course add other ID models to the garage via the same procedure, and you can make various upgrades to your virtual car. And this is where you may have an issue - like many of these kind of "free" apps", they depend on micro-transactions, that is to say small in-game purchases. Of course for some people it does become very tempting to keep buying upgrades because it is so much faster to develop your car that way. The virtual car/garage being a core part of the ID Hotwheels, whether this toy represents value would seem to depend entirely on how one feels about games/apps with in-game purchases - it they are an anathema to you, keep well clear, but if they represent no more that a small annoyance the virtual track will greatly enhance enjoyment of this toy.
