Very interesting, funny, with useful phrases
This book is really good for conversational english classes, and it has a story you can follow which adds to its charm. It only has 1 activity per chapter but it's useful in practicing the vocab. The only problem I have is that the vocabulary is kind of a lot for a single chapter. It's hard for students to memorize so much vocabulary in one chapter, and I can't extend the chapter into several lessons because the content is only suited for one lesson. But it's a funny and interesting book, glad I bought it.

Finally I understand American Spoken English!
As English not my mother tongue, I learned English from textbooks since middle school years. Though having English conversation courses, the idioms and slangs were not covered in the formal sponken English lessons, despite we studied hundreds of English phrases. I came to the USA and found American's colloquial English was hard to understand, for example, "He drove me nuts!", "Way to go!".. Now I finally understand what they meant. This book is very helpful. The lessons were arranged consistently in real life scenes, very vivid, cordial and interesting. Combining with the CD for practice, I pick up the sentences instantly without sparing any effort to learn by heard. I highly recommend this book for anyone whose native language is not English.

Perfect Idioms Book
Fantastic book for E.S.L. students; the entire series is wonderful, very positive stories and prepares the whole class for a better understanding of our everyday language. I have been usiging this series for the past 4 years and every time that I new book comes out I communicate my students and they all come back. My class has an average of 15 students each semester and we all love the "Speak Like an American" series. Thank you Amy Gillett for your great job, please keep the ball rolling ...
