Silk Road Countries Map (English, French and German Edition)

I purchased this map so I could mark the locations and routes that I had visited during my backpacking trip along the Main Silk Road. Unfortunately, the map does not include X'ian (the Eastern terminus of the Silk Road) nor Antioch (the Western terminus); only a small portion of China and Syria are shown. Despite this shortcoming, the intermediary countries between China and Syria are well illustrated. It shows the Main Silk Road and the many tributary routes that evolved over following centuries.

I may be traveling to some of the central asian countries and this map is perfect for that! The map includes all major towns, cities and helpful road info. It includes all the modern countries in the region plus the routes of the original Silk Road,which once connected East and West (look for the camel icons). I know I'll enjoy looking at it whether I take that trip to Dushanbe or not!

Great map - good details. Actually gave mine as a backup to GPS to two fellows heading overland from Almaty to London by Motorcycle. Ended up that I had to buy another

Difficult map to read because of strong land form colours. Not enough of Western China included. Would like to have seen picture of it before purchasing.

I bought this map for a forthcoming trip, and to be able to follow the places named in several books I am reading by way of preparation. The main problem for me is that it's aby a German publisher and the place names don't match those given in any English books. So Khiva is shown as Xiva. It's on stout paper which makes it fairly heavy, but the paper tears easily. As a result I bought another map "Uzbekistan / Kyrgyzstan / Tajikistan" by ITMB Publishing Ltd , which is in English and much clearer. Though the paper is thinner, it does not tear so easily, and is much lighter.
