NINESTARS DZT-5-1S Automatic Touchless Infrared Motion Sensor Trash Can, 1.2 Gal 5L, Stainless Steel Base (Round, Stainless Steel Lid)

I have a craft room where I make items I sell which involves weeding a lot of vinyl with tiny pieces, so I need to have a tiny trash can right by me. Well, I also have cats. On particularly busy nights, after I finish orders, I often forget to take the bag and place in the larger bin, or if I only did a small amount, I don't want to waste a whole bag on a few pieces....and I regret it terribly when they scatter it all over the place. I had been meaning to look into one of these fancy motion detector deals but wrongfully assumed those were only large ones for the kitchen and such, but my frustration made me desperate enough to look and found this. I am so tickled over a garbage can. The little plastic grocery bags fit perfect in it and they do not stick out, because not only their curiosity, the dang cats also like to lick plastic, which is also maddening and distracting when I am trying to work. The Motion sensor is quick and it closes in a reasonable amount of time as well. It fits right by my chair,partially under my craft table so I have it in easy reach while I am working. There is plenty of clearance when the lid opens. I am VERY happy with this item. And I can continue using the plastic grocery bags and do not have to buy extra bags, thus, creating less environmental waste. I plan on investing in more of these for other areas of the house in the future. Thank-you!

Perfect sizing. The lid Flings open a little too quick and if held up even by accidental touch it will throw off the sensor and not close properly. If unobstructed, then it works fine.

Awesome trash can! It works perfectly as expected! I've never had a touchless can but I found the need for one when I moved and I didn't want to have to go around my sink with my leg into a tight spot (as I did for the foot release cans I've had in the past). Now, even more useful as I broke my foot, this trash can has come in clutch!Great color; easy to clean and stays pretty clean on its own. I still haven't had to change the batteries and I got it a couple months ago. Speaking of, I'll attach the product link of the batteries I got for this. I read the reviews and decided to follow suite and go for the Energizer batteries. I believe a lot of others had experiences where other brands just didn't do the job.Overall, excellent trashcan! This is the perfect trash can for my needs. I have a small area near my recliner -- a tight fit near a wall and under a shelf so the size is perfect for the lid to not hit the shelf when opening. I love being able to reach down and put something in it without having to look! I have a dog who would get in the previous lid-less trash can I had there whenever I left home. Now I can turn off the motion detection feature so she can't get inside if she knocks it over. It's easy to clean because a small grocery bag can be placed inside to be held down by the inner liner. A nice surprise was the excellent quality of materials used. This little garbage can is perfect all around!

I have been using this can multiple times every day for over 3 years and it has exceeded my expectations!Set it next to my kitchen sink. Allows for wet hands free operation.For a cost effective auto can solution, it as work flawlessly. Only changed the batteries once (that I can remember) which really surprised me.Lift out inside liner is a plus.Only complaint is that the plastic battery cover latch broke early on, so I had to tape it down.But still worth the five star rating....Gave one as a gift a couple years ago, and that one is still working too with the original set of batteries.

It does all it is supposed to do. I took one star away because I wish it was larger.

The motion detection stopped working. I tried calling customer service at 1-866-9STARS-8 as indicated in their manual. They kept me on their automated system for about 2 mins and then forwards to a voicemail box that states it is full and cannot accept messages. I can't get any customer service.I will wait for them to respond to this review and see if they resolve this. So far not happy with the product.
