Looking to add salt water system to current intex pump?** A: I love the salt system. I have had it for 3 summers and last summer I only had to add 1/2 a bottle of algaeside, a bottle of stabilizer and 2 gallons of liquid chlorine when I opened the pool-that’s it, all summer. I have my sand filter on a timer and run it all night while my chlorine generator is running. Keeping the stabilizer around 100ppm is key and follow the salt recommendation of the generator. **Q: I have a Hayward pool above ground skimmer can I use these off the skimmer to attach the intex filter hose?** A: Yes. I used it to connect a Hayward pump to an Intex hose. **Q: cannot tighten 1 1/2" 38mm intex hose nuts to these. They snug up OK but slip/cock thread when you try to tighten them. Anyone else have this issue?** A: I had the same issue with the 40mm nuts on Intex filter hoses. I used a hose clamp on the nut to keep the nut from expanding. Just tighten the clamp just enough to still be able to rotate the nut. **Q: I just added a hayward skimmer to my coleman pool. i have an intex krystal clear pump. does this connect the skimmer to an intex hose?** A: Yes, the 1-1/2 inch portion of the adapter should screw directly into the bottom of the Hayward skimmer. The hose from the pump connects to the 40mm end of the adapter. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/14296521-game-40mm-to-1-5-inch-pool-hose-adapter-conversion](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/14296521-game-40mm-to-1-5-inch-pool-hose-adapter-conversion) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-11*
