Smead Cascading Wall Organizer, 6 Pockets, Letter Size, Gray/Bright

I needed a way to organize my kindergartner's schoolwork for the week & this was great. I was able to separate homework, lesson plans, practice papers, and notes from the school. The folders are nice & bright, and the organizer itself is very sturdy. I put his homework book on the bottom slot and it holds well.

This has helped me be more organized by facilitating a quick pre-file of mail as I bring it in. It is attractive and space-saving hanging in mu utility room near the door. Since I can now pre-sort the mail, it is easier to address things that need immediate attention, and then move important papers to permanent filing 9n a routine basis.

I have used one of these for several years, and when it became damaged, I ran right out to replace it. It is bright and easy to use. We use it as a way to communicate with our staff. Each person has their folder, and I have one place to put items I need to know they receive.I have three of these for three different purposes. What I love best about this product is that when I am in a hurry and on my way to a meeting, this system file has my back. I hang one by the door of my office so I can grab the file I need. It is colorful and has helped me color code my projects as well. So now I have begun to think of my needs in terms of color and find them easier and quicker. The calendar pocket in the front is also helpful as this calendar only applies to the volunteer projects I use this for. I have another one of these for family and school projects and that is handy for my whole family and is hung by the back door of the mudroom. This is handy for dr. appointments and things I need for school conferences and again that calendar is related to these

This feels like my old accordion folder. Oh wait, it is my old accordion folder spliced into a calender like device. If you were once a kid who owned a plastic accordion folder, this is the same plastic that they use with the same plastic creases that let you know this isn't the sturdiest of products. However, it is cheap and effective. The calendar pocket is useful for storing little pieces of paper you don't want to lose.. like stamps. My one gripe, and hence the 4 stars is that the "removable" pockets aren't intended to be removed. They have little plastic pieces that hold the pocket in place and will quickly wear out if you take the pocket out. I naturally assumed that these pockets were meant to be removed. An easy work around is to use those manila folders inside the pockets. I was wrong, but it did sadden me. I would give it 4.5, but that isn't an option).

Great for organizing

I love the colors and the look of this product. It was a good value for the price. The bottom dark part has a clear pocket where you can put a calendar, photograph, or artwork, or anything else you may want to personalize it with. The pocket is 11" wide by 8" high. But you can fit up to 9" high just by letting it stick out the top of the pocket and it won't cover any of the purple folder above it. So a regular 8-1/2" x 11" letter size paper would be just fine there. The entire item is made of plastic so it should be easy to wipe down if it gets dirty. The current Amazon picture of the item shows a longish handle at the top with a notch cut out. I just received it and the handle design has changed. It it now a semi-circle and it does NOT have a notch. It think this actually makes it stronger without the notch and the shape also appears stronger. See the attached picture. I was just going to hang it up and leave it in place permanently, butI didn't have a hook to hang the item. So instead, I just used the included elastic cord that's on the back and looped it through holes on the bins where I was going to hang it. See the attached picture. So there are some additional options for hanging it. I guess you could also use the cord and hang it like a regular picture frame on a nail. I wasn't going to use the elastic cord anyway so I figured that even if it broke, I could just replace it with a regular cord or picture frame wire that's hidden on the back. I wanted to see how much weight it could hold. I just wanted it for daily use with one folder each day's daily tasks. It's perfect for this since it has enough folders for Monday through Friday and 1 additional one that can be used for either a weekend day or to temporarily store next weeks tasks as they accumulate. I took about 120 sheets of papers and put about 20 in each pocket. This was more than double of what I thought I would need. It fit comfortably in each folder. The elastic cord did stretch down a little due to the weight, but it looks like it can support it with no problem. I didn't try it with the handle because like like I said, I didn't have a hook.

I love products that help my family stay organized so when I saw this I knew our life was not complete without this item. I was looking for a way to organize my children's homework assignments as they receive them on Monday and are due of Friday. We were having trouble locating homework when it was time to turn in because they did not have a designated place to keep them. We tried just keeping assignments in backpacks but they rarely survived the week. This product arrived on time and was just as expected. There is a place to put documents in the front that has a clear sheet. Great for using dry or wet erase markers on. Each folder is well made and sturdy. You are able to place labels on tabs (labels included). I love the fact you can hang this up to save space or fold up for easy transporting without damaging contents. Amazing product and design.
