A great Gaming Headset for its price
Had my eye on this product for a while and I bought it when there was a brief drop in price. I was not in need of a new gaming headset, rather I bought it because I have an acquaintance who said nothing but positive things about them. For context, my previous headset was a Turtlebeach Z11. A decent headset, but I know it is far from the best. PROS: Great build quality. I wasn't afraid that these would break after a few drops. The materials provide a nice tight feel to them. Sound quality: I do not consider myself an audiophile, but I'd say that the average consumer would be able to enjoy the sound quality. The only thing I would say is that perhaps the bass is a little weak, so unless you REALLY enjoy dubstep you should be fine. Mic: The mic is great IF your settings are alright. I even prefer these to the Cloud 2's mic. Though this was only after hearing them on Youtube videos. I have no idea how they would sound through direct input. Depending on your hardware the sound quality might vary dramatically so I can't guarantee anything. I'd say the quality is impressive and definitely beats it's competitors such as Razer, TurtleBeach, etc but would most likely fall against professional hardware like Blue Yeti and such. Last note, the mic is detachable which is great if you're thinking of wearing these without looking like a total gamer. Cons: Heat: The headphones come with the leather pads as the default ear pad material. While leather is extremely comfortable and noise-cancelling, it can get pretty hot after a period of time. During the summer I found my ears got too hot often and I had to remove them for a brief period. There are velvet pads as an alternative if you want to replace them. To be honest, this is nit-picky but it is something I've observed. Volume box jacks: There are multiple parts to this headphone. One of them is a volume controller that kind of acts as an extender allowing a mic and playback input from the headphone and outputting the same two inputs into the computer. My earbuds are not long enough to reach the computer so I occasionally use this extender when I don't feel like wearing the headphone such as when I don't want headset hear. However, it is quite a tight squeeze to fit them into the jack. I'm not sure if this is true for all earbuds, but it is definitely a concern of mine. Conclusion: If you're looking for a medium priced gaming headset then I would definitely recommend these. It is true that there are cheaper alternatives, but if you just want a complete set then the HyperX is definitely the way to go.

Extremely Comfortable, Great Sound Quality, Mediocre Microphone.
First of all, I would like to start off by saying that this is by far the most comfortable headset I have ever used. I have used many headsets through the years and typically wear them for up to 6 hours at a time in my lengthy evening gaming sessions, and this headset has never once become uncomfortable after extended use. In terms of pure comfort, this headset is the best headset I've ever owned. Next up, sound quality. I have never been one to spend a lot of money on headsets ($60 being the most until I purchased this one), so good sound quality is something that I have never truly become accustomed to, so just keep that in mind. Saying that, the HyperX Cloud has the best sound quality I have ever heard in any pair of headphones or earbuds. I have been playing games for many years, some of which that greatly rely on crisp audio cues, and during my first session of using this headset I noticed certain sounds I had never even heard before in the game, and had sounds I had already heard before greatly amplified with a clear massive improvement in sound quality. Once again, the HyperX Cloud has the best sound quality I have ever heard in a headset. Lastly, the microphone. Let me start by saying that I am a social gamer for the most part, and spend a lot of time on Discord talking to friends, so having a crisp, high-quality microphone is certainly ideal for me. As a result, I have a great high-quality condenser microphone next to my desk on a stand that I use for all of my speaking. So, mic quality was not something I was looking for when I set out to buy a new headset. Naturally, I tried out the mic on the HyperX Cloud, though, and I immediately received a lot of negative feedback from my friends, saying that the quality sounded very low and that my previous headset microphones that I used years ago provided a better sound. However, I used a recording software to playback the audio from the mic, and the quality of it is still better than headsets I have used in the past, and I certainly do not think it is bad by any means, but it just pales in comparison to the high-quality microphone I typically use. In conclusion, the HyperX Cloud is extremely comfortable, has great sound quality, and a mediocre, at best, microphone. If you're a streamer or YouTuber looking for a headset with a good microphone, maybe look elsewhere, however, if you don't care about mic quality as much, or have an external microphone like I do, this is definitely a great headset for casual and competitive gamers, alike. I give this 5 stars easily, and I wish I could give it more. This is truly the best headset I have ever owned, and I definitely plan to go with HyperX again in the future when it comes time to purchase a new one in the coming years.

I love hi-fi and headphones etc. For reference I also own a pair of Sennheiser HD570's, B&W P5 S2, Bose IE2 in ear and a Steel Series Siberia Gaming headset. I've owned the Clouds for several months now. The others I have owned for many months (Siberia and B&W) or years (HD570 and Bose). For anyone considering if they should get a pair, the comfort is awesome. I wear glasses for long gaming sessions and with the exception of the Bose IE (which as the name suggests are in-ear) the Clouds are by far and away the most comfortable (admittedly the HD570's are super old now and the foam has failed) For comparison I'll only talk about the Steelseries (SS) for sound as they are the only comparable headset for gaming that I own. The SS have lovely sound with solid bass, but the build quality whilst durable, is wanting. Mostly plastic they creak, and they pinch the head. The Clouds straight out of the box please, plenty of space, mid range is excellent and bass pleasing without over powering (I'm looking at you Beats and Bose) For the price the build quality is awesome, the only thing I can really find fault in is that the pads are a little cheap in terms of how they fit. Magnets (like the B&W) would be awesome, and given the build quality of the B&W that is the only thing I can find wrong with the Clouds (disappointingly for a $300 headphone the B&W doesn't give you a braided cable... unlike the Cloud). Everything else speaks quality of the Clouds. They ooze style especially in comparison to the SS which at best can be considered garish (looks are highly subjective). The SS are also really uncomfortable for longer periods, I sweat quickly and they really clamp the head (and I don't have an overly large one). Microphone is really great, it can be detached which is useful. All in all I quickly fell in love with the Cloud 1's and will be seeking out the 2's in order to see how the 7.1 performs. Either way C1 or C2 I doubt you can honestly do much better for the price. So I doff my hat to Kingston. Go and try a pair, I bought mine blind (deaf?) based on the reviews on Amazon and I'm very, very pleased I did.
