Review: Growing and thriving! - I ordered 4 Dwarf Black Everbearing Mulberry Plants in late March of this year and they arrived in early April, two weeks later. The plants were small and about three to five inches in height and looked really healthy, but less than a week after getting them they started to wilt and one by one all four plants died and I was really disappointed. I believe because each plant's root system didn't take since these plants were from cuttings. I contacted the seller and explained what happened and they sent me four bigger, healthier six to eight inch plants with strong big roots. I was very satisfied when I got them on Friday April 18th 2014 right in time for my Mom's birthday. :) I then watered each plant carefully and put them on my fireplace mantle under the skylight in my living so they could be exposed to soft light. After three days of receiving them I planted each plant in a 22 inch resin container outside on Monday April 21st 2014 and they have taken off like beanstalks! Each Dwarf Black Mulberry plant has grown about four to five feet in height in just four and a half months! I'm really impressed and I also see a few Mulberries growing on three of the four plants which I saw today (Tuesday September 2nd 2014) I would definitely recommend these Dwarf Black Everbearing Mulberry plants but be sure if you are receiving a cutting to see if the cuttings have big strong roots otherwise they will not survive. And plant them outside after three or four days of receiving them. Do not expose them to direct sunlight once you receive them because they will go into shock and not survive, only expose them to soft light from a skylight or windowsill. I can't wait to try my Mulberries once they are ripe. I am very happy with my Dwarf Black Everbearing Mulberry Plants. :)
Review: Don't. Just...don't. - I love mulberries & wanted this for myself & the birds. Since they're a fast growing tree I didn't mind that it was in a 4" pot, so it doesn't look at all like the photo. However, it's been struggling. It's lost nearly every leaf it came with. The good news is that it's growing new ones. I'm very hopeful ~ since I live in the southern U.S. ~ it'll re-bound and be strong enough to make through the winter . Update: 2015. Unsurprisingly, it died. The 1st one I bought struggled, my chickens kept eating it so when it died I took full responsibility. So this Spring I went ahead and ordered another one. Mistake. What I received wasn't even a 'plant', it had no roots and so there was no chance it would survive being shipped. They, quite literally, just cut a tiny nubbin off a tree, stuck it in a pot and mailed it to me. It wilted, shriveled up and died within 3 days.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How tall will this mulberry plant grow up to?**
A: From my research this is not a true Morus Nigra. If planted in the ground and not pruned would grow very tall. You can keep it stunted by leaving in a large pot, and it should still produce fruit for you given good care. Or you can plant it and keep it pruned to stay small. However, I went ahead and purchased mine because it is supposed to do well in my zone which is subtropical. Planning to keep it pruned. So far, so good, just be aware many nurseries are falsely selling different species of Mulberry under the name Morus Nigra when they are not.

**Q: Do you have 3 year old plants to sell ?**
A: Belive me u don't need 3 years old plant. This one grew from about 4 inch tall shipped to me 7 months ago to more then 6ft. I snapped the top twice already and i did produce a lettle bit of fruit already! ;) order it, plant it ( i found that it likes a little shade more then alday sun) and enjoy!

**Q: Upon arriving the plants looked rough, I can't get them to perk up any suggestion? I think they are going to die and I just got them, what can I do?**
A: If it arrived in dead of winter, keep it safe from cold. Mine last spring arrived about an inch or two maximum height with two tiny (one square centimeter) leaves, but potted, guarded and began to grow. By late summer it was several feet high and bearing some berries to ripeness. Despite very cold weather in the last few weeks, it has begun breaking out new buds for the 2015 season! Still in a 8 inch pot. Don't give up on it.

**Q: Are they guaranteed female? Male mulberrys are banned in my area, are the guananteed female?**
A: im not an epert as i am still researching every source for the mullberry i want.. but i did run across an article that stated mullberrys tree's are male and female. so you need only one.. im looking for an everbearing morus nigra.. i want to start with 4 of them.. and in a couple years if they do well.. im going to plant them in a field im buying. maybe 10 more of those trees.. i want to use the fruit for free range egg laying chickens and and maybe pigs.. there is an article i read that says the leaves attract silk worms.. and other pests. good protein source for chickens.. and pigs. what area do you live? i wonder if we are n the same area. but i never heard of a ban.. I want to plant mine in the phillipines.. the garden dad blogger says he lives there and that the mullberry is a great fruit tree to grow there.. I agree except i still need to work out sourcing there.. imports can be a pricey and long process.. i also want to grow 4 or 5 peach trees near these and on the opposite end of the field a row of 10 orange trees.. and 2 lemons near the oranges.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to plant and care for

Very easy to plant. Also easy to care for. A great plant for a 5 gallon pot. The shoot was alive and took to the soil with no problem.
