Marvels: The Platinum Edition Product Bundle – August 31, 2014

This book is a great read. The story was awesome and the art is classic. Here's the problem. Where am I going to put it ? The book is HUGE AND HEAVY. But that's a good problem because it's worth the price.

The story takes a backseat to the copious amount of Alex Ross covers, sketches and related material. Fans of this comic master should definitely pick this up. This oversized Platinum Edition is an excellent way to peruse The vast majority of Ross's Marvel output.

Beautiful book, only for marvel collectors

The reviewer who claims the art in this book isn't "clear" doesn't understand that these pages were painted. You can't get the "clarity" of pen and ink in painting. The reproduction here is as clear as it can be, and the painted pages are beautiful. This is a ridiculously large book, but is a great showcase for the beauty of Alex Ross' work. There is so much extra art and features that it becomes a showcase also for his entire Marvel career, with pages and pages of his other work and covers. Not only is this an impressive volume, it is one of my most prized books.

My amazing wife presented this book to me wrapped up for my birthday yesterday and I could not have been more impressed. This book entails not only the 0 through 4 limited series of Marvels but also includes the script from previous collected editions and every known piece of Alex Ross art for Marvel from the last 20 years. wizard promotional art covers to all the special editions leading up to now earth X you name it it is in this book I was truly impressed I'm a huge Alex Ross fan marvel fan I know the history of this story I know the history of his work and this book rivals anything anyone has ever made featuring his work. I'm disappointed with previous reviews I have seen for this work especially the critique concerning the margins for those who thought this took away from the book I disagree and I have the opposite view it adds to it I for one was very impressed. Marvel did an outstanding job putting this book together and it is one of the finest pieces of merchandise Marvel has ever offered us fans. if you are on the fence about this book and reading reviews hoping to make the right choice if mine means anything to you let me put your concerns at ease seriously buy this book it will be worth it to you it will instantly become the hallmark of your collection your friends will be jealous you will be elated by the experience you will be amazed and surprised at what they included in this production I am glad I ignored the negative hype and thankful to have received this as a gift and I hope that my review helps sway all the negative stuff you're going to see other from people that did not appreciate what they had

What a book! It's huge and weighs a ton. Can only be read while sitting flat on a table. The construction is top notch. Not sure what another reviewer is talking about with blurry pictures - all the artwork in the book I have is sharp and gorgeous. The story and artwork is amazing - that's why there are so many versions, but the Platinum version is the most decadent. This book is something that could be handed down for generations to enjoy!!

This is so much more than an even more over-sized version of MARVELS. This is an over-sized celebration of all of Alex's artwork to date. All of it. Marvels may only me a third of the book when you look through it. From his Earth X Universe X and Paradise X covers to his Avengers/Invaders covers to his posters and other covers. If you love Alex Ross's art, and you want to see it as big as possible, and you're a fan of his approach to the Marvel Universe, this is the book for you. Especially now while the price is low. Well, lower than it will be.

A classic, beautiful story. But the reproduction here is awful. The art is very blurry, nothing is sharp. They have remastered the text bubbles, but on pages where the text is part of the image the lack of sharpness really shows. Also, each page has big white borders and a MARVELS logo, which is a strange and unattractive choice.

Feared the worst when I ordered this from Amazon Warehouse, used, damaged, acceptable.Turned up tonight, the box that housed the full book and slipcase was damaged... But you would need to take it out of there in the first place...so,I did.Absolutely minted, never been opened, no damage whatsoever, perfect slipcase and book in the package.Anyway, the book, yes brilliant artwork from Alex Ross again, not your usual Marvel fare, nicely written and I found it totally engaging... And that art, again, in a big bladdy book... Incredible.

Esta ediçao apesar de estar em ingles (o que nao e um grande problema) vale cada centavo tanto para quem e fã da marvel quanto para quem e fã de quadrinhos, de arte em geral.

Holy.... it is a BIB book. BUt damm how it looks great. Lots of extras in addition to the great Marvel mini series. Lots of sketches and pretty mcuh every covers that Ross did for Marvel ever.Great book.

"Marvelous". Huge book and great packaging. Outstanding value. If you are a fan of this type of collection, you'll need a bigger bookcase.
