RYOBI R18SW3-0 18V ONE+ Cordless Debris Sweeper (Body Only), Green, 18 V

Ryobi R18SW3-0 18V. I needed a product that would sweep up debris from our old tarmac driveway around the house. The debris mostly consists of loose surface stones, soil, leaves, sticks etc. I searched and deliberated on several different models including the big petrol sweepers for some time. It was when this came at a discounted price I decided to go for it. I’m very glad I did as it has turned a two day job into a 4 hour job now. It does leave a small line of debris down the middle but it isn’t a big deal. I also use it in the workshop/stables for general tidying without issue. There are videos out there of how to get the best out of it which I would recommend viewing. Great bit of kit all round especially if you can get it on offer.

I really wanted to love this product but the reality is that it’s a lot of faff and effort for little reward. If the debris you’re sweeping up is small and very uniform it does an ok job of flicking it into the collection bucket. Bearing in mind there is no suction so you’re relying on a mechanical spinning brush action to flick the dust from one place to another! I wanted this to help clear up the copious amounts of leaves and foliage we get in our garden and this is where this failed completely. As soon as leaves enter the entrance to the dust container it simply clogs up so you spend most of your time removing the dust canister and using your hand to manually unclog the entrance area. You literally spend ages just allowing this thing to flick leaves around when in reality you could sweep them into a pile and pick them up with a shovel in a fraction of the time. Also if you put it in the highest setting using the dial, it drops down on its own. Simply can’t recommend this device for garden clean up.

No where near as good as I expected from ryobi.

Read lots of mixed reviews about this product and whilst it is not perfect (it does leave a middle line that you have to go back over and the emptying could be a bit easier) it is a damn site easier to use than a brush. I used to dread brushing the drive as it felt like a never ending task , now it is the cleanest it has been with very little effort. Great product

I've recently added the Ryobi Sweeper to my collection, and it's quickly become a favourite tool for keeping my spaces clean, both in the garages and outdoors. I power this sweeper with a 5AH battery, and I must say, the battery life is exceptional. It lasts a surprisingly long time, which means fewer battery swaps and more work done on a single charge. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the durability of the brushes. After 10 hours of use, they show minimal signs of wear and tear, which suggests they'll last quite a while. This is great news for the longevity of the tool. The added convenience of easy folding for storage is a thoughtful touch. It allows for neat and compact storage, making it a practical addition to my Ryobi collection without taking up too much space. In conclusion, the Ryobi Sweeper is an impressive addition to my collection. While it won't replace a vacuum for fine dust, it excels at handling larger debris and makes quick work of tidying up. With a large bin, long-lasting battery life, durable brushes, and easy storage, it's a valuable tool for any Ryobi enthusiast. I'm giving it a solid 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for keeping your space clean and clutter-free.

I was hoping that this sweeper would make it easy, quick and straightforward, to pick up leaves etc on my large (very flat, newly tarmaced drive). It picks up about 80% of the debris but then sadly throws out 80% of that out of the side of the sweeper. I worked out from that that in total it picks up only about 16% of the material you're trying to sweep up. To achieve even that you have to go over and over the area you're trying to sweep but the machine never manages to pick everything up and then when you switch it off to empty the collection bin most of what it has actually picked up just falls out rather than being held in the bin! I tried the settings on the sweeper from smooth ground (which mine is) to rough ground but neither, and nothing in between those settings, made any difference. I'd love to know how the people who give this machine a good rating actually use it… and what they use it for? I was really hoping to be able to give this an excellent review, but it is basically not fit for purpose. I'm returning the sweeper AND the battery AND the battery charger because I don't have any other Ryobi products which I can utilise the battery on. My total spend on this item has been £334.88 - I'd have been better off buying a £5 sweeping brush from my local hardware store! :-( I think that to successfully pick up the debris that Ryobi say this machine can handle they need to fit it with a vacuum so that it actively sucks up what it is pushed over rather than just rely on the action of the brushes. Sad to say that I'm still looking for a sweeper that might actually do as it says on the tin. If anyone can recommend one, please let me know.

This is a great machine! Bought it in the fall last year to help with clearing up leaves etc. It's like an outdoor hoover - Works on almost any hard surface, easy to use, light to manage, hangs away on the wall when not in use and a great companion for keeping the garden and garage neat and tidy.

Purchased for debris clearing on decking, paving and artificial lawn. Lawn pile is clearly too thick resulting in too much friction, can’t push the machine on it to collect anything. On hard surfaces, decking and paving below average performance. Materials get ‘flung’ out of the rotating brushes if your not moving at a snails pace, resulting in taking ages to actually collect anything. Have reverted to leaf blower again. Couldn’t recommend this product, would return it if I still had the packaging. Have a lot of other Ryobi tools this is by far and away the worst. DONT BUY!

Tried a couple of solutions for the tons of leaves and acorns I get on my putting green. I then came across this little machine and it it awesome. The first pic shows the putting green after one pass and the 2nd pics is of the completed job. Had to use a leaf sucker for the big leave but used the Ryobi for the small leaves, acorns and sticks. Very very easy to maneuver. So glad I found this thing.
