great concept. not to many small pieces such as the 21 n 1's , etc. u want something quick , versatile, and easy to find in a ceiling, etc.., with not to many small parts to easily loose and render the tool useless. this fits all those bills. with that said, the ratcheting action seems to slip at times but im not totally sure. haven't used it to often, but i thought i noticed it a few times and i did not other reviews stating the same thing. I will have to see in the future. the wire nut wrench, genius idea to put in a multi screwdriver, and also has three (not 2 like most multi's) commonly used by electricians nut drivers. all functions are ratcheting. Totally thought through this concept. durability,,will see, but seems well made, with good grip.the ratchet issue,,time will tell. about the ideal customer service issue. i broke one of the flat head tips for this driver (not taking away from driver for that. their all only so strong on these multi's) torquing down on a lug. tried to return to ideal for refund and was told(with attitude) that the tips were warrantied for only 90 days, wich IS NOT noted anywhere on the package, but does say lifetime guarantee. fine, i haven't owned more than 90 days at the time so i was then told they do not honor warranties on drivers sold by amazon because there not ideal retailers...HUH???? its your screwdriver, it was new, lifetime guarantee,,REPLACE IT! ALL THIS WAS TOLD TO ME WITH ATTITUDE. SO I CONTACTED AMAZON, THEY SAID THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HONOR THAT WARRANTY AND WOULD LOOK INTO IT IMMEDIATELY AND SENT ME AN ENTIRE NEW SCREWDRIVER. OVERNIGHT. cant say enough about amazons great customer service, and cant say enough against ideals. great job amazon. and to end this review, yes i think this is a great driver so far, best concept ever, and maybe in the future improve the ratchet action, then they have a hit on their hands despite their customer service. unfortunately bad service can also kill a business as fast as bad products UPDATE: 10/03/2013 this is the best multi screwdriver i have owned. the ratchet action has not slipped, the wire nut driver is a complete wrist saver, and arthritis prevention. terrific grip. absolutely no complaints. Absolutely the best multi screwdriver for an electrician such as myself. journyman electrician 17 yrs. I use this thing every single day of work and its the first tool (with my linemans) I grab from my box. upgraded to 5 stars

The BEST and only screwdriver you'll ever need as an electrician. I've seen all the set where you can carry bags of different driver,but it seems crazy. You can have this one and save yourself a ton of money and space for comfort and reliability.

very good but expensive

Well made and the ratcheting feature is nice. Bought this primarily for electrical work. The handle has a wire bending recess that puts a perfect hook on wire for terminal attachments. This was a pleasant addition to the tool and speeds up outlet change outs. Tool comes with a good variety of screw bits and sizes, which are stored in the handle. Definitely recommend this tool.

Love this ratcheting screwdriver. Awesome for electrical work. If you're having trouble finding replacement bits for this Ideal Ratch-a-Nut screwdriver, the Greenlee #9953-13 Multi-tool Replacement Bits, currently available here on Amazon for $6.79 for a set of both the big and small flat/Phillips bits are a perfect match to the originals.

I bought this for the wire-nut holder - and for that it's fantastic and a great tool to have when doing lots of wiring. The screw / nutdriver aspect is OK, but I have had the ratchet mechanism slip a couple of times, so I generally just leave it in non-ratchet locked mode and it's a reasonable multi-function screwdriver that way. The feature I was most surprised by is the wire looper in the handle - something so simple but so useful. End result - I liked it enough to give 3 of them as Christmas presents and if I'm doing a day of making connections this is the tool in my hand much of that day, but if I'm mainly running screws or nut I'll grab a different driver.

Easier on your wrist!

I was trying to decide between this and the Klein 11-in-1, which everyone seems to have. Ultimately what sold me for the ideal was the ratcheting feature. The ratcheting works well and the bits are held securely, no issues with them accidentally falling out. Chose this over the ideal 21-in-1 because I don't really need that many bits, and I don't regret it. If I had to nitpick my only complaint is that there's no reference mark to visually tell if the ratcheting is set to clockwise, counter, or locked, but it's not a huge deal.
