Review: Nice piece of kit - A really great little keyboard that is a pleasure to use. It is quite thin but definitely not flimsy. The keys are square and seem a little bit larger than other keyboards but that could just be an optical illusion due to the fact the letters on the keys are large, bright and clear. Even without the backlight on all letters and characters are easy to read. Even though the keyboard is thin the keys have a good amount of travel when hit giving the feel of an old style 'clunky' keyboard - I mean that in a good way. I am not a gamer so cannot comment on that side of performance but for general typing and such it works well. The response time from keystroke to letter appearing on the screen is up to the level of any other keyboard I have used and the positive key action and slight thud are a reassuring confirmation that you have not missed a key. The layout of the keys is pretty much the UK standard although, as mentioned by other reviewers, the 'Enter' key is only one row high as opposed to the normal two. In use I hardly noticed this so it was no issue for me. Other than the '#' being moved to accommodate the single row 'Enter' key all other keys and functions are present and in their normal locations. The backlight is a good brightness - not so bring as to cause a squint but bright enough to show the letters etc clearly. If you are looking for a keyboard that can cope with fat fingers (like mine) and eyesight that is not quite as sharp as it once was (like mine) then this is an ideal keyboard for you and at a very reasonable price.
Review: I am the world's pickiest keyboard user... - Let's make this clear on the first line - this keyboard is PERFECT (for me). I've had this for 10 months now and have been working from home for 6 of them, so it's been tested. As I mentioned, I am picky. I have had expensive keyboards and I've had cheap ones. This has been one of my favourites so far. I need keyboards that have a few things: low profile keys, a numeric keypad, wired, no faff (multimedia buttons bells and whistles, etc). You can get those fairly easily but as I age my eyesight is deteriorating so I now need a backlight. I think I had 3 before this one in a variety of colours, but I don't want it to look flashy - I need it to be functional and high contrast. So to find a keyboard with all of the above and just a plain white/grey backlight for such a cheap price, well I wasn't holding my breath. 10 months later and I haven't even considered replacing it. The opposite in fact because I'm going to buy a couple more just in case they get retired. I can not think of a single negative to say about it. And the backlight turns off too. It's going to be a struggle getting used to the usual standard keyboards when I go back into the office. Update: I've now had the keyboard just short of 3 years. I'm still using it now but it's time to replace it. My only gripe (and it's unreasonable) is that some of the keys have worn away so the backlight on some is a blob rather than a defined letter. I don't touch type, so it's an issue. But it's been 3 years of daily use so I can't complain. Everything else still works fine. No loose keys, no 'problem' keys. I'm probably going to try a different brand but only because the typing noise is clattery and I'm used to a more silent one now (via work). As other reviews have mentioned the enter key is a bit of a strange shape, but I got used to it quickly and it was never an issue. This brand does a low profile, backlit quieter keyboard but I think it's overpriced.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it 27mm in height with or without the height extensions?**
A: There are no height extensions, no height adjustments. The height at the back of the keyboard is approx 27mm and it is angled downwards towards the front

**Q: Is there a wireless verrsion of the perixx periboard-317 wired led backlit keyboard big letter print white illuminated full size keyboard?**
A: Hi, at the moment we do not have it. But we might introduce it next year. Please sign up our newsletter to receive the latest product news from Perixx website. Many thanks.

**Q: does it connect to samsung galaxy A10 ?**
A: The 317 has a USB connection and will work with Windows OS. I have used it on Linux too. I don't know what a Galaxy A10 is, so I cannot answer the question completely.
If the Galaxy A10 uses a Windows OS and has A USB type 'A' socket then it may well work?

**Q: Is there any flex in keyboard when typing ??**
A: the keyboard is quite rigid hard plastic. Personally, I use the keyboard on a 15% incline stand and this also makes the illuminated keys more visible.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Large print backlit wired keyboard. Not perfect, but good enough for the price
*by G***. on 20 June 2020*

This is a full-size backlit keyboard, that connects to your PC via USB A. It is a straightforward keyboard with no additional media keys. It is dark in colour and the backlighting is white. The font on the keys is large, maybe in the region of .22 and clear in dim lighting with the backlight on. The keys feel a little bit spongy with more key travel that I would personally like. I do find that when I’m typing quickly, some key presses are missed for this reason. It’s not terrible through, and not a deal breaker considering the price and decent backlighting. Layout - the model I bought is a standard UK layout. However, the enter key is not the standard L shaped variant that covers two rows in height. The enter key on this keyboard is a single height variant, which for me, makes it easy to miss when touch typing quickly. The size and shape of the enter key is in my opinion, the worse feature of this keyboard. There is also an additional key between the righthand windows and control keys on the bottom row. In windows 10, this acts as a right mouse button click, so wherever your curser is, pressing this button gives you the right mouse click context menu. I didn’t think this would be useful, but I’ve actually found myself using it quite a lot. The backlighting is decent enough. It does appear brighter in some areas of the keyboard than others, but is not a deal breaker for me. The backlight is either on or off, with no adjustment available for brightness. However, for my needs, this is fine and the backlighting is perfectly bright enough and not too bright in a dim or dark room. When your computer is on, you can turn the backlight on or off with a press of the scroll lock key. There is no way to separate the scroll lock and backlight on/off function and so if the backlight is on, the scroll lock is off; if the backlight is off, then the scroll lock is on. For me this is not an issue, as I prefer to have the backlighting on at all time so in my use case, the scroll lock would be off. I don’t think I have ever used the scroll lock function in my life and so for me this is no issue. However, heavy users of the scroll lock need to be aware. Also, as most computers these days have at least some of the USB ports live, even when the computer is off. If the keyboard is plugged into a permanently live USB, then it will be illuminated regardless of whether your computer is on or off. With my computer, even if I turn the backlighting on the keyboard off before I turn off my computer, as soon as my computer turns off, the keyboard lighting comes back on again. Pressing the scroll lock key in this instance (when the computer is off) does not then cycle backlighting on/off. To get around this, you could use a USB port that is not permanently live, or just unplug it if it annoys you. So, all in all, not perfect. But for the price, if I knew now what I knew before I bought it, I would still buy it. I write this as a partially sighted person, so the large font backlit keys, I find very useful. I would also love to see a TKL and wireless version of this but most importantly with a proper size L shaped enter key.
