They are a good value and will stop the casual thief.
They are light weight, combination programmable, easy to use, easy to read. The lock bikes up good enough for me.As I have learned, you can get the most incredibly secure lock, and a thief with a angle grinder can cut it off probably 15 seconds. So high security is pretty much a waste.

Good, easy-to-use, lightweight lock
Obviously, a lightweight cable lock (or pretty much any cable lock) is not going to deter a determined thief who has bolt cutters. I purchased this to deter casual theft. I've come to hate coiled cable locks because it's often hard to stretch them to full length and to pull them between spokes and narrowly-spaced fence posts. This cable is straight, and it's easy to coil it for storage. The number rings are easy to turn, even with gloves, and the numbers are easy to see in dim light. And, the combination can be customized, so my three locks all have the same combination.

Good low/medium security lock
This is a passable low/medium security bike lock, but no more than that. An unskilled thief can cut it with a $10 bolt cutter, and one with a little bit of skill - not much, really - can open this lock in less than a minute without knowing the combination. So use this lock only where threat levels are low. Where theft is a serious threat, such as my $1000+ recumbent trike parked in an urban area, stick to level 5 OnGuard or Kryptonite KEY, not COMBINATION, U-Locks and 10 - 15 mm hardened cable, and use this little guy to secure your seat, wheels, and other such items while you're in the bar, coffeehouse or whatever.

Does What I Bought It to Do
This is a simple, lightweight lock that keeps honest people honest. I keep it in my bike bag and when I want to stop to get a drink or go inside a store for a few minutes, I use it. It like that it's lightweight, flexible, easy to use, and easy to store. If it was bigger, stronger, and heavier, I wouldn't want to carry it everywhere. It does the job for which I bought it--low level security in low risk situations.

Great For A Quick Bike Stop
Not the world's most secure lock, but good enough to put on your bike while you go in for a cup of coffee or some lunch. It's very flexible; I keep it wrapped around my handlebars. Large, easy to read, knurled cylinders; long enough to be useful. The combination is easily changed.

Actual steel cable 3mm, easy to decode, weak for bikes but great for ski lock
For my use (ski lock), this is actually perfect, as I wanted something a little beefier than the cheesy little shoe-string wire ski locks you could cut with a butter knife and that break after one season, and I wanted to keep it under 6oz weight. This lock fits the bill for me, as it weighs only 5.5 oz, is 53" long (including lock body), has a nice large dial that's easy to use with gloves on, the cable is STRAIGHT instead of the typically curly ones, and the removable end is very narrow so it's easy to thread through ski bindings. The set-your-own combo mechanism is easy to use, and is actually spring-loaded into the default position (NOT the set-combo position) so if you accidentally bump it there is some resistance to it going into the reset position unintentionally (like one reviewer said they did and locked themselves out). If you DO accidentally change the combo to something you don't know and the pointy end is out of the lock body, you can simply push it into the keyway and turn the dials one at a time (starting on the right side) until the pointy end slides in one notch. Repeat this for each dial sequentially going from R > L and you'll find the combo in 10 seconds. That said, you absolutely should NOT use this lock for a bike or really anything in the city (kayak, idk what else in your driveway / yard) as it provides essentially ZERO actual security. Most cable locks can be cut with a small pair of hand wire cutters, but this tiny little thing could probably be cut with a leatherman or even smaller clippers, much easier than typical cable locks. At a ski resort, people aren't usually using tools to cut locks off, so this is fine for me, but in the city wire cutters are a very basic thief tool.Basically all cable locks advertising tells you the TOTAL outer diameter including both the steel cable and the plastic sheath, but they generally have the courtesy to be vague about what they are measuring. This product, on the other hand, the packaging SPECIFICALLY says the STEEL CABLE is 6mm in diameter, which is a blatant lie. You can slide the little rubber sleeves down and measure the steel cable between the sheath and the crimped end, it's AT MOST 3mm in diameter. The total diameter including plastic sheath is about 6mm, but half that is plastic. Again, this is perfect for a ski lock, but I'm knocking a star off for some pretty major false advertising here.Lastly, I'm knocking another star off because this lock is INCREDIBLY easy to decode by feel, and I'm assuming most potential users of this lock don't even realize that can be done so quickly. I am not a practiced lock pick or anything, but after messing around with this lock for a few minutes I went ahead and reset the code to something I didn't know and was able to crack into it by feel in under a minute, almost as fast as if I knew the code... So, again, this lock provides essentially ZERO actual security. As other reviewers said, this lock will keep honest people honest, and maybe deter the time-sensitive / opportunist thief to steal whatever is unlocked next to your stuff instead, but that's about it.

Good bike lock for a ki
We went through so many bike locks that had a key that my son would lose. Now with this lock it stays on his bike, he knows the combination, and I don't have to worry about him not locking his bike. I know it's not as secure as some but it's more secure than not locking it at all! It was easy to set the custom combination and has worked fine in the time that we have had it.
