Great product for an awesome price! Buy it!
Super easy to connect and get working. It was literally plug-n-play. It works with my LG TV & DISH remote without any programming needed. I haven't tried it with bluetooth for music yet.The only comment for TV volume using my DISH remote is that turning the volume down is fine. The TV stays at 0 for volume level. But when I turn the volume back up, it turns the TV volume up and if it goes loud enough for the TV, you can hear from both sound sources (bar & TV) and it's like an annoying stereo sound. So I'm using the bar remote to turn volume up. It might just be a setting I don't know yet, but thought I'd mention. Not a complaint. The sound is great. The bass is great. Connectivity couldn't be easier!I am using the digital optical cable with my TV.I previously purchased a $380 Samsung sound bar that I returned. The sound was better on my TV than that bar. This Vizio bar with subwoofer is way better than the expensive one.Update: I found the setting on my TV to have the sound come only from the optical cable device (bar). So now no matter which remote I use: DISH, LG TV remote or the Vizio remote - sound only changes on the bar. The TV sound stays null. Also, I didn't see it in the instructions, but if you pause what is on the tv, the sound bar will eventually shut off. Not sure the timeframe yet before it auto shuts off. Then you have to use the sound bar remote and press the volume up to get it back. It comes back on to the level you had it. Wish this setting was adjustable. I've seen it in other soundbars, too.I am still loving this. I've had the bass all the way up and music playing and you can feel the air "vibrate". Its great!

Excellent sound quality with no distortion!
I was looking for a great sound bar to go with the new 50 inch LED tv I'd purchased. Prices for stereo surround systems can run from a few hundred up into the thousands and I personally wasn't looking to spend that much. I wanted something that was better than my tv's speakers without the price of a premium system. I read a LOT of reviews before deciding on this new VIZIO sound bar. Amazon was offering an extra $30 off the normal price for Prime members and I couldn't beat $148 for this system anywhere. This sound gets great reviews from a lot of techies and I can honestly say that it's a great system. It's not just a great sound bar for the money. Instead, this sound bar beats other costing WAY more than this. It has a solid construction, a wireless bluetooth subwoofer and a remote control. To test this sound bar, I played lots of movies (like Godzilla, Transformers and anything else with lots of high pulsing sound) and there was no distortion whatsoever. The sound is crisp and clear and it's so much easier to make out what actors are saying when they tend to mumble. Recently I had a guy over who works as an eletronics installer setting up home theaters for people. He was so impressed with this sound bar that he said he'd make it a point to pick one up. He mentioned that he's installed sound bars for other people from all the big brand names and most of those systems didn't sound as good as my VIZIO. If you want a great sound bar and not pay and arm and a leg for it, get this system. It's easy to set up and you'll love it!

Great Performance for a Moderate Investment.
My original objective was to improve the unacceptable sound of our flat screen TV's speakers. I already had the traditional amplifier and speakers but my wife did not want either to be 'visible' in our living room. I decided to try the Vizio SB3821-C6 38 inch 2.1 Channel Sound Bar because 1) it fit my wife's parameters and 2) I was pleased with our Vizio TV's picture quality. The Bluetooth wireless connection to the sub woofer was an important consideration so that the installation could remain as invisible as possible.I was impressed with this system as soon as I began unpacking it. Patch cables for just about every way to connect with a TV were included. The instructions were clear enough, and the sub woofer paired with the system without a hitch. Also included were brackets to wall mount the sound bar. At the time my TV was on its stand, and I had no interest in listening to the sound bar via Bluetooth, so after I connected the two together with the optical cable provided I was finished. I should explain that I have been an critical music listener since before surround sound, and I have an extensive surround system in another area. Once the Vizio Sound Bar was in operation I was impressed and very pleased with my purchase. The Vizio TV remote powered up the Vizio Sound Bar and controls its volume. The Sound Bar presents a wider 'sound stage' than its diminutive size, and it is well matched to the sub woofer. It can fill the room at higher volumes without distortion. Viewing movies yields a pleasant experience without missing most of the LFE's (low frequency effects) that are carefully crafted into most movies, and sometimes provide essential cues for the viewing experience. I believe it is easier to hear movie dialog with this 2.1 Sound Bar than I could with a stereo amplifier and speakers.Recently I wall mounted my TV on a swivel mount, and I employed some creativity with the Sound Bar's wall mounting capability to mount it to the bottom of the TV. Also, I have begun playing Amazon Music via the Sound Bar's Bluetooth connection from my laptop and I am impressed and pleased all over again. Again, the Sound Bar yields a satisfying experience for non-critical music listening.I have owned the Vizio Sound Bar two years and I am still pleased with it. The minimalist display works well for changing inputs and other controls. Hats off to the Vizio engineers for putting together a great product that is inexpensively priced without an obtrusive appearance.A word of caution: be certain your TV has an audio output before purchasing: some newer TVs seem to be lacking outputs for audio devices.Update after 3 years: Still very satisfied, and its still performing like day one. Twice since the purchase, the unit would not power up for no apparent reason. Power and signal cords were attached properly. This was resolved both times by disconnecting the power cord for 30 seconds or so and re-attaching. Like many other microprocessor-based products out there it just needed a reset. I can't imagine using the TV with it's built-in speakers any more. Let's face it: TVs are designed to maximize the display and be thin. The only place for speakers is on the back and its difficult to make a thin, robust speaker. Sound bar is the way to go!
