Wonderful product. The best shoyu sauce I’ve ever had. Pleased to find such a good price, prompt & careful packaging.

Excellent taste and rare find
Deep, smooth, smoky flavor. Soy sauce that is certified organic, naturally brewed, unpasteurized, and reduced in sodium. The description claims it’s aged in old wooden barrels, an artisan making technique with live probiotics. I’m no expert in soy sauce, and maybe such products are common in Japan, but I did not see another comparable product on Amazon. This was the most naturally tasting soy sauce I’ve tried so far, confirmed by the few natural ingredients, and no added vinegar or alcohol. With regards to sodium, this is a comparison per 1 Tbsp: • Kikkoman organic naturally brewed regular sodium: 990mg • Whole Foods 365 Organic Shoyu Reduced sodium: 650mg • This sauce: 720mg So this falls under the category of reduced sodium AFAIC. The 5oz bottle is actually the the same price as the 10oz one at the time of this review, so go for the 10oz, which still is not cheap, but adequate for this quality and comparable to other brands in the same category.

The best soy sauce
This is the best soy sauce you can find. It’s authentic and straight from Japan. It’s not pasteurized so it retains the beneficial vitamins, is alive and only has pure organic ingredients. It’s made with organic soybean, mountain spring water, organic whole wheat and sea salt. It’s worth it.

Split opinions in the family.
Conflicting opinions in my family, I'm a 3/5, Dad said 5/5... He really liked it. I... thought it tasted like soy sauce. Maybe I'm not one for the finer things. It tasted all right. It was nice & dark. Smaller bottle than expected for the price, but if it makes him happy. Probably wouldn't get again.

Great product at a good price
This brand of mirin has a wonderful rich flavor and is far superior to the mass produced brands. A rich warm sweet sake flavor that is a must for dashi or sauce.

Expensive but Love
Love taste. Husband does too even though he's not a soy sauce lover. Wish it were less expensive. I don't use to marinate because of price.

Too salty and not as complex or rich flavors as hoped got
This was very salty. I went by the high ratings but for me it lacked the rich complexity of flavor that I am used to tasting with tamari from a local co-op

Very Nice, Very Different
The copy on all the "shoyu" sauces goes to great lengths to never say 'soy sauce'. Forget that. Right on the label it states 'naturally fermented soy sauce'. So right there was an end to my expectation that I was getting a different, specialty, sauce. It is definitely soy sauce. That said, it is also very good; less salty with a whole range of complex flavor. Not to be wasted by splashing it on the fried rice or hunan beef ! For me the challenge will be to find the right pairings to showcase its intracacy. If you enjoy fine sauces, buy this. Buy a couple - you'll use them.

Delicious but too expensive here. Didn't realize I can find this product in my local health food store.
