Works great, no problems, does exactly what its supposed to
I bought this months ago and have been use it regularly and so far no problems at all. The magnet base sticks right to the roof of the car and has never fallen off. I wasn't sure it was water resistant or not but I figured for the 20-some bucks I paid for it I'd take the chance one day in the rain and it worked fine so I leave it attached to the car all the time now and so far its never fallen off and never failed to work. Not suggesting anyone else do that but I got tired of taking it on and off so its been on the car steady in all elements outside and I've had no problems at all.Only cons I can think of is Its a little noisy in that you can hear the motor turning but that lets me know its working, and its not super bright from a distance in the daylight but its bright enough and anyone with several hundred feet are going to see it quickly and always seem to. I cut trees by the roadside routinely so it gets a lot of use. For the money I think it was a great buy.

Not very bright bold but works
It works. The light is a little dimmer than I was hoping. Wish the bulb was brighter. Sticks well to the car and does it's job

for the money, this is a steal
Considering that some of these types of lights cost 150.00 bucks, this is a wonderful bargain. To me, it is solidly built, includes a spare bulb inside, is easy to open, has a fairly strong magnet on the bottom and is basically everything you want in a rotating red light. If you are looking at this light, you've probably already noticed that there aren't a lot of cheap ROTATING 12 volt RED lights out there. And the ones that are, certainly aren't this inexpensive.I'd buy it again, and again. Even if it fails me in a year or two, I'll buy another. I could buy 8 of these lights before I get to the standard 150 bucks that they cost in my area locally.Love it!!

Waste of Money
I saw the reviews and got this light for my work. I expected it to be bad and wanted it only for a month. But on the first day the bulb stopped working. I got a new bulb from walmart to replace it and the 2nd day the entire beacon light broke. Here are the problems that I faced:1. Makes a lot of noise while its on.2. You cannot use it if your vehicle is in motion. Its only good if you have stopped somewhere.3. The entire base is not magnetic, only the center part is what it hold to the car.I wasted my $18 on this and would not recommend it to anyone.

Perfect for my pinball machine
I purchased one each of the red and blue to put on my Virtual Pinball cabinet. A lot of pinball games used these beacon lights to enhance the game. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the bulb (#89 equivalent) is pretty dim. But, an actual beacon for Safety Vehicles uses a halogen style bulb, not a regular incandescent. I would say these are not suited for actual safety vehicles, but if you actually have a safety vehicle, you should be purchasing from a vehicle safety supply, not here. However, if you want to boost the brightness of this beacon (by a lot) and at the same time, reduce the overall wattage used, you should search on here for BA15S LED (the BA15S is the base style). I found these (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BR5GFSC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1) here on Amazon and they work perfectly in the beacon, draw less power (only 3 Watts compared to 8 Watts) but have an increased Lumens output (300 Lm vs 75Lm for the #89 bulb). There are other LED equivalents with higher output, but these worked perfectly for me.

This is a "show" light
If you drive an emergency vehicle, you should get the full led lights that go on the grill, sides, and back. If it's an unmarked unit that rarely sees action, or it's for a parade, this light is perfect. Inside it lets people know you're official. Outside (on the top) it shines bright enough so people know to move or yield to you.The best usage of this is for a personal vehicle that needs to become official now and then.It seems solid enough and brightly displays the appropriate shade of blue with a flashing effect. If you need more, go to a shop that outfits police vehicles, but be prepared to pay. This would also work well for a small business to put in a window to attract attention from passersby (just remember it plugs into a car outlet).
