Average warmth
My five year old wore these for a ski day and was very cold. Temps were in the 20's (F) that day. Fortunately I was worried about warmth going into the trip so I brought along some Smartwool thermals for her, threw those on the next day and she stayed warm the entire time with the same temps. The downside is Smartwool's products are several times the cost, but if you're using these as a base layer under just a ski jacket, and are going to be in below-freezing temps, they may not get the job done. Smartwool would have been too warm on an above freezing day with the same configuration, so these are a good option to carry for the warmer days when you want an inexpensive base.

I bought this for a camping trip for my grandson actually. I cut the bow off of the top. This was much better priced and it was going under his clothes so who cares. It kept him very warm. I've washed it and it seems to be very high quality. I will be buying another set,
