Best drying rack I have ever had
To be quite honest, I don't want a laundry drying rack to save money or electricity, although that is nice as well. I have two adults, an adult child, a teenage boy, a little boy, and a dog in my house. We make a ridiculous amount of laundry so when I have laundry to be air dried or to finish drying after being in the dryer, I don't just have a couple of shirts or two bras. I had a puny metal tube accordion style folding rack from Michael Graves Home (Target) for about 3 years. It was fine although I had noticed over the years the racks were getting smaller for some reason. The Target rack bit the dust as a result of boys tackling it, although it had always been a little flimsy and crooked for some reason. When I went to replace it, I found the drying racks in the store were getting even smaller. After an exhaustive internet search and scouring over reviews, I ordered this drying rack. It was probably overkill but I was on a mission and this was not cheap. This drying rack is AWESOME!!! It can be huge if you open both sides or good sized with only one side open. It is very sturdy, seems to be very high quality, it holds a LOT, and I can actually hang adult sized clothing on it. It is slim when it folds up, although it is as deep as the closet from side to side. It is perfect for my household, although size might be an issue if you had a small apartment. I have been using this for about 6 weeks so far and I will update my review if it fails to hold up over time. I would definitely recommend this item.

Arrived broken
I bought this for delicate items and my master bedroom duvet set. I like everything about this product because it’s sturdy and easy to fold but it came broken. I wish they packaged this better.

Good rack and easy to use, but the CRESNEL Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Clothes Drying Rack is better
About three years ago, I ordered both the Household Essentials and the CRESNEL Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Clothes Drying Rack - Rust-proof Guarantee - Premium Quality because I wanted two racks and I wasn’t sure which would be better. After having used both for years, I can say that I would definitely recommend the Cresnel Stainless Steel drying rack over the Household Essentials rack. The Cresnel rack is much more stable. If you pull on one side of the Household Essentials rack, I have found that the sides of the rack will pull out of the center parts, resulting in the rack tilting over. The wings of the Household Essentials rack will also pull out and collapse if you are pulling a towel off of the rack and it snags on the rung. Neither of these problems happen with the Cresnel rack. And the Cresnel rack has more places to hang things on the lower level. The only situation for which I would recommend the Household Essentials rack over the Cresnel rack is for someone elderly or who might not have the strength to snap the wings of the Cresnel rack into place. It does take a bit of force whereas the Household Essentials does not. Both racks have been through years of laundry drying without showing any signs of rust.

Great Product
After hours of reviewing similar products on Amazon, I decided to buy this particular model despite it's lack of reviews (only 3 as of date).Had some concerns about shipping and possible damage as it is quite a "big" item. Was pleased that there were no damage when it arrived. MLM Home Products, a Canadian-based company, had packaged it well. It was tightly shrink-wrapped with additional hardboard paper to cushion the hinges and corners. As for Amazon Packing, the box was oversized for the product with flimsy brown paper tossed all over - as if it was an afterthought. I could hear and feel the Rack moving all over inside the box before opening it.Amazon could improved on it's packing for this product. It is compact and easily to fold/open. Dimensions when folded - 40 x 25 x2 Inches. Because it is only 2" thickness, it can be easily tucked away next to the washing machine. As for it's weight, it is manageable at 8.3 pounds. The steel rods are very sturdy and does not cause "wire-lines" as in some other models. All the joints are strong and are encased in blue rubber which I think maybe good to protect it from the elements if Rack is used outdoors. The blue rubber protectors / encasings are smooth to touch, 1mm in thickness, no gaps or holes, no "rubber bits" sticking out. Also rubber that encases the hinges are very "smooth" - there no creaks or stiffness when folding/opening. I liked that I can adjust the height of the rungs - it can go as high as 53 inches (outer-most rung). This will be useful for longer-length items like jackets and shawls. The two support rungs have a little rubber "catch" thingy" that you secure to another rung. This provides additional support and so that the rungs will not collapse in strong winds, when you bump into it or if you hang really wet loads.Lastly, it comes with a two bonus "shoe hangers" made of blue hard sturdy plastic to dry shoes. It can hold 4 pairs of shoes. The only "Cons" are - this maybe a little too big to fit in a bathtub. It stands at 5 feet long, 2 feet wide and 3.2 feet high. It doesn't fit in my NY apartment bathtub. And the rubber protectors for it's legs are "pointed" - not flat - this may affect the balance of the Rack especially if placed outdoors. But not a deal breaker as I plan to use it mainly indoors for hand-wash items only.Am very pleased with purchase even though it is a little "pricy" compared to other models.
