One of the best food allergy cook books
If you or anyone in your family lives with food allergies this cook book will help a lot! My daughter has multiple different food allergies and this cook book has made meal prep and snacks so much easier. I would recommend it for anyone with food allergies.

Okay
I'm not sure if I would recommend this cookbook. I never write reviews, but since there aren't many, I thought it might help someone.Pros:The recipes look great. Also I really like Kiwi magazine, and I would have bought any cookbook they put out.Cons:This would have been better for me if it wasn't an allergy cookbook. My child does have food allergies, but the allergen info for each recipe is distracting. There are color coded rectangles along the edge of each page that says if the recipe is gluten, egg, dairy, nut, or soy free. If that allergen is in the recipe, the rectangle for it is removed. If a sub for that allergen would work in the recipe, then the rectangle would say, for example, soy free option instead of just soy free, and then when you make the recipe you would use that sub.The options they include seem sort of random, there could have been a lot more. For example, the meatloaf is not egg free. At home I convert meatloaf recipes to egg free by subbing in ground flaxseed. It works well, but the book doesn't include it as an option to make it egg free. Several of the recipes that are not nut free could easily include an option for sunflower butter as the substitute. I can do this on my own without them telling me, but it seems that if they include subs for some recipes, they could have done a little bit extra and included it for others. That would have been helpful for parents who are new to dealing with allergies (which I'm not).I noticed a few mistakes looking through the cookbook. For example, the recipe for chocolate frosting does not have the egg free notation, but there are not any eggs in it.Overall:I'm glad I ordered this. Like I said, I really like the Kiwi magazine. The recipes look good. I wish instead of calling this an allergy-friendly cookbook, it had just been a cookbook and left out all of the allergy distraction.

Love this book!
My almost 2 yo son has multiple food allergies: wheat, milk, eggs, and peanut. I have struggled with taking normal recipes and trying to adapt them for him with mixing types of flour, etc and everything has turned out not so great. The recipes in this book have been phenomenal so far and I am overjoyed to see him eating something besides meat and sweet potatoes. A few of the recipes that haven't been wheat free I have used GF Rice flour in instead of the wheat flour and they have turned out great.Definitely recommend this book for kids with allergies and frustrated parents!

Lot's of good looking recipes
Lot's of good looking recipes. Will definitely be trying some of these with my Peanut/Tree Nut allergic toddler. I have been searching for some creative ideas since we got her diagnosis. Was slightly disappointed in the condition of the book I received. Almost looked like it was a used book instead of a new one.

Pretty Good
It has lots of recipies for all sorts of allergies but none that I saw that were egg, gluten and lactose free all in one recipe. Will continue to look through it though.

Great recipes but insufferable chemophobia
I was generally quite happy with the book till I read several anti-science sections completely unrelated to the recipes. I don't buy cookbooks for someone's opinion on autism or ADHD. I probably should have googled the magazine because I'm going to wind up ripping out the first few pages because of insufferable levels chemophobia and a lack of basic understanding of the digestive tract.I won't be buying anymore cookbooks from KIWI magazine because I choose not to support ideological rubbish conclusions to my own medical conditions. It's bad enough being an ADHD asthmatic with severe food allergies without someone telling you that the answer is to be paranoid of chemicals and to support an unsustainable boondoggle in "organic foods"(I refuse to use that word in a serious way because it's a chemistry term that means carbon based).

Fantastic!
I've only had this cookbook for a few days, and it has already become my favorite book in the kitchen. Allergy-Friendly Food for Families is well-organized and full of bright, vivid pictures of the dishes. The recipes accomplish their goal of being allergy-friendly while being both easy and delicious! I highly recommend this cookbook.

Disappointing really
Two of the things I look for in a cookery book are recipes that I'm likely to make, and pictures so I have an idea of what the finished article should look like, and also as a gauge of whether it looks appetizing to me. I was therefore disappointed that there are not many photos of the recipes in the book and some of them weren't really to my taste. In contrast, I would highly recommend 'The Allergy-Free Family Cookbook' - buy that instead!
