Gator cases are great
My brother and I make bass guitars and so we find ourselves buying a lot of cases. For the first 5-years into our endeavor we knew what kind of bass we were building for our customers. Our niche was the blue collar musician. The guys and gals that play weekend after weekend in almost any venue imaginable. As a matter of consequence, given our clientele, it's safe to assume that we don't get any requests asking for us to ship our instruments in a gig bag.Yet still buying cases was a guessing game. We really didn't know which case would come out on top because it was a longevity of life question that had yet to be answered. We needed to buy one that was durable and also a real value. After five years with several brands, we decided to go with Gator. There are two models we buy, and we leave the choice up to our customer. We like the plastic molded GPE-BASS-TSA ATA models and for those that like the wooden cases, we get the Delux wooden GW-BASS cases. Both are obviously hard shell case and very durable. We like them both. But from here on out I'll leave this review to the case that is referenced above which is the deluxe wooden tolex case. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002GFQKQ/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_titleWe really like everything about them. They have a nice traditional look with the while piping. Since getting them our customers say the hardware doesn't pill or rust and the tolex stays in good shape. The case is heavy, balanced, and sturdy. What we really like is the material they use in the interior. There are some horror stories one in which I witnessed first hand with velour material. That's the kind of fiber that was used for the many of the earlier fender cases and surprisingly is still used today. With the right humidity conditions and if the bass sits in the case too long, the fibers will fuse themselves into the basses finish. It's a chemical reaction and it really stinks. These is nothing more sad than seeing a 1981 vintage Jazz bass ruined with orange fuzz sticking to it like two day old beard. Not so with the Gators. They use a different micro fiber all together for the cases we get. It's very soft, and fine. It might not look as dazzling as the shiny orange velours. But it's safe and that's what matters most.Dollar for dollar around $100 or so, this is a great case. It fits jazz styled and P-bass styled bodies, even five string Jazz style basses. The necks stay put in these, which helps keep the bass stable in the case while it's being jostled around. The Gator is quite popular with our bass guitar customers. So we'll continue to buy these and you won't be disappointed to own one as well.

NICE!
A nice looking Fender type case. I use these for my G&L basses and my Lakland jazz and P's. They fit well and have plenty of storage room. They do the job admirably

Not an Exact Fit for my Vintage Les Paul Goldtop but Still a Nice Case
The build quality is great-- the tolex is nice as is the plush interior. However, my 72 Les Paul Goldtop does not fit. The neck is not supported at all. The main reason is that there is a lot of padding for the body of the guitar--so much that it jacks up the neck. What I ended up doing to make it fit wasn't too drastic. Rather than roll up towels, etc. I simply undid the screws on the outside of the case that support the two sides of the interior compartment and function as neck supports. I raised them up until they made contact with the neck of my guitar then reset the screws. The only other issue is that I jacked them up so much that the bottom screw does not go into the block. But it does add support being just underneath it. I will probably buy some matching screws and reinforce further. This also leaves a gap in the compartment which means thinner items will probably shift in the case, but I would rather deal with this than have the neck snap from not being supported. You can see the retrofit I did in the photo. So, not perfect in my case--pun intended--but it'll work. Now my Goldtop fits very snug for maximum protection.

Great case if you use it for what it's meant for
PROS:1 My SG standard fits snug inside2 Guitar does not rest on the headstock inside the case3. Small compartment for guitar accessories4. Its an inexpensive case.CONS1. The hardware holding the case closed is ok. It's not great. I can force it open with my hands.2. There is a slight chemical smell left over from manufacturing. Just leave it sit open for a day and it goes awayThis case is great for protecting you guitar at your home, and for small amounts of travel, like to your friend's house, a local gig, or to a guitar shop. Keep your guitar in here and you won't have to worry about your cat, dog, or kids messing it up. THIS CASE IS NOT FOR FLYING OR TOURING. If you drop it in your house it will protect your guitar, if a dude loading an air plane throws it you will probably be in trouble. To the people giving this case bad reviews because of the hardware I say come on people it's a $100 guitar case you should not expect it to be ideal for touring or flying. And I also think the pink material inside looks nice in contrast to my ebony SG.

Beautiful, heavy duty guitar case for my Yamaha five string base
Bought is awesome hard case for my Yamaha five string base a lot more roomy than I thought was afraid there wouldn’t be enough length for my instrument, but there was actually a little more nice padding and I love the Trim and very nicely padded handle. Yes it is a little heavy, but it is worth it. I am visually impaired and rely on things like Lyft and the city bus to get around much nicer than any gig bag. Also, this was return really appreciate the savings still haven’t figured out why it was returned, but like I said, I’m very thankful for the savings I got with it being returned

Plüsch Schweinchen Rosa ! Passt für SG.
In gewohnter GATOR Qualität.
