It's really fun working with different stitches. At times, the unit requires initial support for starting the stitch and some rigidity is felt. The reverse option leaves some loose threads in the bottom side. This may be overcome with the top thread tension adjustment. As of now all the settings are as per factory set up. Suggest users to take time to acquaint with the speed and synchronisation of hand and pedal. Bobin winding option is very good. Threading is easy. Using a proper table is good to work. Changing pressure foot is very easy. Manual could have included some illustrated tutorials for designer stitching. Nothing is mentioned about the use of double needle. YouTube videos are available for most of the Singer models. Specific to 1412 limited options in these videos. It's better to undergo a training before seriously trying the various options. Oiling the machine is again missing in the user manual.
