I bought this so that I could cut my mushrooms and my partially frozen strawberries in even slices for freeze drying. It really does a good job. The baby Bella mushrooms and white mushrooms, along with the entire stem are sliced very nicely. If I have a large mushroom too large for the base, cut one of the sides down a little bit on the mushroom. This definitely makes for a consistent size cutting for all the pieces that I’m freeze drying. I have not tried it on other items yet, but I would say it will definitely do the job.I hope they come out with a larger slicer just like this one, with a bigger base to put the huge mushrooms that I use.Happy with this purchase!

I often cook meals requiring sliced mushrooms and was so frustrated with several “wire” slicers that kept breaking no matter how gentle I was with them. To be fair, those were advertised as egg slicers, even though they showed mushrooms on the packaging. This item however, is an awesome little slicer!Consistent function with no problems, it’s really sharp so care must be used when cleaning, but that’s generally a fast & easy process. It has a nice slide lock for safety when storing.Really large mushrooms you need to cut in half prior to slicing, but this little gadget has been a prep changer for me. I have no doubt it can handle other slicing needs, I only use mine for mushrooms.Would recommend.

A little bulky but locks so that it can comfortably be stood up on end in overhead cabinet (our solution).A little awkward when trying to get egg to stay in place at start of cutting process.The cleaning brush is useless-way too soft.Need to rinse promptly after use to loosen food particle stuck between cutting blades. Seems to come clean in well when run through dishwasher on top rack.Cuts eggs reasonably well. Tried cutting marzano (a little longer than grape tomatoes), but it's faster to use sharp knife & cutting board. Also tried cutting cocktail tomatoes (near the size of a large boiled egg, but round). This was a disaster--tomato juice and seeds squirting everywhere.

I am very happy with this product! I would say "I love it!" but I've learned not to love things that can't love me back. I wouldn't use it for a small job, I'd use a knife for that. But if you have a lot to do, this tool cranks it out fast!! I've frozen 3 cookie sheets full of banana slices, and dehydrated 20 trays of strawberries--all uniformly sliced by this handy gadget. No, I'm not being paid to write this; I'm a productivity-driven homemaker that likes tools to help me get more done efficiently. (I wouldn't build a house with a hammer if I owned an electric drill!) I strongly recommend cleaning it as soon as you're done, and use a little vegetable scrubber brush--cleans very easily. Very happy with this purchase! (for the bananas, I learned to measure/cut the banana into chunks that fit onto the BLADES--and hold it blade side down, then just press. No need to put the fruit into the green holder first. For the strawberries, I put the fruit in the green holder, close it, flip it over, and press. Super fast.)

I had an old tower slicer than I loved. Unfortunately, the container that the BLADES sit in, finally broke. Tried to find another only to find out the company discontinued the product. Since then, I have been trying to find a suitable replacement. I've tried mandolins (sliced my fingers), rotating slicers (feeder too big, food falls on side), and even egg slicers (wires broke trying to slice a mushroom). I tried this as a last resort (not expecting it to work). Was I surprised!!! First of all, it has blades, not wires. I was able to slice a quart of strawberries with NO problem. Sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and yes...the mushrooms. Not only easy to use but incredibly quick cleanup. The only thing I haven't tried yet are carrots. So far, I am VERY happy with this product!

This slicer is advertised as slicing a variety of veggies. We just bought this slicer a few weeks ago. My wife tried strawberries and hard-boiled eggs with no issue. But the main reason for me to buy this was to make it easier for my wife to slice mushrooms. We buy different kinds of small mushrooms. So, we tried it on some baby Bella Mushrooms from Costco. It didn't do the job!!! Kept on getting stuck about 3 quarters of the way thru!! Haven't tried regular button mushrooms yet. But if you're looking for a slicer to get thru all types of mushrooms then this is not the one!!!

As a comparison, I tried another otherwise excellent brand of slicer with thin wires for cutting, and two of the wires snapped the 1st time I tried to cut a few mushrooms. This device cuts mushrooms with ease due to having steel blades not wires. I've not tried it on tomatoes as yet. Hard boiled eggs are a breeze.Cleaning is a tiny bit difficult, a brush for the small spaces is included, but the bristles are a tad soft. I used a brush made to clean out reusable straws and that worked great on the difficult spots. This is a well designed and constructed very sturdy product and I expect it to last a long time. I highly recommend it.

This is a product that works WAAAAY better than those wire slicers. Easy to rinse off and store. Wished we would have found this years ago. With these cutter blades you have total confidence they will cut fruit or eggs without damaging the utensil.
