Perfect for my needs!
I got into the art of sausage making this past summer, and I haven't looked back. Up until recently, I've been using a meat grinder & sausage stuffer combo, which has worked well for basic bratwursts. However, when I experiment with adding sauces (like Korean spicy pork sauce, or char siu sauce), the stickier consistency makes it very difficult to stuff. I first learned how to stuff using a commercial, vertical stuffer, and I recalled it being very easy, so I invested in this one as a starter. And I must say, it's been awesome. Stuffing is no problem at all, the casings pretty much stuff themselves. Suction is great, operation is simple, really happy with how it works. I usually make my sausages in 1 kg (about 2 lb) batches, and I'll need to refill the tube once during stuffing, but it takes less than a minute to do, and you don't need to remove the casing. I have made 2 kg batches, absolutely no complaint, especially given the cheap cost. The "wasted sausage" is no more than the size of the tube, which is the same for all stuffers - I use a chopstick to stuff the leftover into the casing, or scoop it out and make a patty for a snack. Clean up is real simple, and it stores away easily. The other bonus is the customer service. I was lazy one day and stuck the parts into a dishwasher, ignoring the directions (don't do that, btw). Even though it was my fault, they replaced the parts without me asking them to. Very thankful for that, although I would have just bought this one again.Unless you stuff huge volumes of sausages, this one is awesome. Perfect for the hobby sausage maker.

Great for small 2 pound quantities of sausage.
I bought this item because my meat grinder stuffer would sometimes push air into the casings, causing the casings to tear or break. That problem is now resolved.PROS:Easy to cleanEasy to useGreat control over the speed of stuffing. I stuffed 2# of Italian sausage into casings in under 2 minutes. NO TEARS4 filling tubes for all sizes of casings or bungs. Tubes are about 5 inches longHolds 1 Kg (2.2# ) of mixed sausage meat.Powerful suction base holds good to counter (must be a smooth counter, won't hold on a pebbly surface)Does not push air into the casing.CONS:Operating instructions could be a little clearer and they are printed on the box end. Put the washer and nut on the worm gear first THEN thread the handle on.I probably should have bought the 5# stuffer, since I usually make about 15 pounds of sausage at a time. The worm gear squeaks a bit but nothing some food grade silicone spray won't fix. If you don't have that or are leery of using silicone spray, cooking spray knocks out the noise too.None of the cons lower the star rating, just suggestions to the mfgr. This is very similar to the old Italian Sausage stuffers like the one my mom had. Works great and like I said easy to clean. It's a keeper!

Decent beginners sausage stuffer
I was looking to get into making my own farmers sausage and the horn on the meat grinder just wasn't working for me.This unit came up in my searches and met most of my requirements. Unit looked sturdy enough and for the price I wasn't too worried if it didn't work right.I must say I am liking this stuffer so far. Nice metal body, everything screws on with plenty of threads to hold, and pushes the meat through just fine. I don't mind the plastic horns but would have preferred metal ones. The size is just right for the amount of casing you can load up on the horn.My one complaint is the suction base. Trying to use this unit by myself I had problems with it losing suction and coming loose from the table as I cranked. I had to get help to hold it down as I cranked and controlled the fill. I have tried it on several surfaces and so far no luck having it stay stuck down. This won't stop me from using it or returning it but it did keep me from giving this 5 stars.I'm going to do a little customizing and come up with an attachment that will fit over the suction base and then clamp it to the table.

Way better than a KitchenAid
PROS:Easy to cleanEasy to useGreat control over the speed of stuffing. I did 5 lbs of Texas style sausage into casings in about 10 minutes. There was a little learing curve for me as I was used to a slow assed KitchenAid attachment.Holds about 2 lbs of mixed sausage meat.Suction base holds good to counterDoes not push air into the casing.CONS:No operating instructions. The tube could have been raised more off the suction base as the handle wont clear the countertop. I had to set it up over the sink (see photos). I probably should have bought the larger vertical stuffer, since I usually make about 15 pounds of sausage at a time and wouldn't have the clearance issue. In my case not a deal breaker but worth knowingWorks great and like I said easy to clean.
