Easy Listening Hits
This is a good compilation of easy listening and light jazz hits, mostly from the early 60s. The only down side is the inclusion of a few pop songs from the late 60s. They don't fit, but it's easy to omit them because they're at the end of the disc.

for endless enjoyment, just play this
This two CD set offers up terrific classic pop vocal tunes that are perfect to listen to while you just kick back after a long, hard day at work and relax, sipping a glass of your favorite wine! These songs could be music for parties, too. The quality of the sound on these two CDs is excellent and I like the artwork a lot.Tony Bennett does a splendid job with a somewhat jazzy rendition of "The Best Is Yet to Come;" Tony sings this with panache and I'm very impressed. I really like "Something Stupid" by Frank and Nancy Sinatra; father and daughter make "Something Stupid" shine brighter than silver and gold combined--just one listen proves it! Dusty Springfield's "The Look of Love" is equally special; Dusty sings this to perfection--and beyond! Matt Monro sings one of his signature songs entitled "Born Free;" and listen for BJ Thomas' "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head"--what a number this is! BJ Thomas does this one up right.Dean Martin aces "Memories Are Made for This;" the backup vocalists sound great but Dean didn't really need it--he could always hold his own very well. Glen Campbell's "By the Time I Get to Phoenix" is yet another classic; I love it! "Anyone Who Had a Heart" moves me with its natural beauty; Dionne Warwick sings this wonderfully. "Whatever Will Be Will Be (Que Sera Sera)" never sounded better than when Doris Day sang it; her phrasing makes this ballad bright and memorable at once. "Wonderful! Wonderful!" is another tune that gets its best treatment from the artist here, in this case Johnny Mathis. Johnny sings this passionately. "Almost There" by Andy Williams uses the strings to great advantage; and I always liked Chris Montez. Chris' rendition of "The More I See You" charms me; it's very cool and I think you'll like this if you haven't heard this sung by Chris Montez before.Dobie Gray's "The In Crowd" has a fantastic sound; he sings this faultlessly. The Jet Set performs "Casino Royale" which was the theme of the James Bond spoof movies; and The Jet Set never skips a beat, either! Peggy Lee delivers "Fever" with a romantic flavor that will make it linger in your mind; and of course Tony Bennett's signature song "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" is extremely romantic and a huge highlight of this two CD set. Dinah Washington performs "What a Difference a Day Makes" only she changes it just a tiny bit as she sings it as "What a Difference a Day Made;" I first hear this sung by Dinah and it still sounds best when I hear Dinah do it. Perry Como also does a superb job on "Catch a Falling Star."Listen also for Louis Armstrong to perform "What a Wonderful World;" this song hit it big when it was released and when you hear it you'll know why it was so popular! It still sounds beautiful today. "Guagliano" is wonderful music from Perez Prado; I could never tire of hearing Prado's music. "59th Street Bridge Song (Feeling Groovy)" gets a fine treatment from Harpers Bizarre; and "Windy" by The Association ain't too shabby, either! The Fifth Dimension does "Stoned Soul Picnic" with all their might; and it remains one of their more successful tunes. The two CD set ends with "MacArthur Park" by Richard Harris. Harris sings this with a great deal of sensitivity and I am very moved by his excellent interpretation of this ballad. This two CD set has so much terrific music; I highly recommend this for any fan of classic pop vocals. These songs are timeless classics and they are performed by some of the most successful vocalists or groups ever; and that's grand.

The middle of a great trilogy of easy-listening compilations
Following the success of Music to watch girls by, this volume contains further classic easy-listening music from the fifties and sixties. This type of music has a significant fan base in Britain as the more recent series of compilations (Memories are made of this) proves. This collection features two songs each by Andy Williams (Can't help falling in love, Almost there), Tony Bennett (The best is yet to come, I left my heart in San Francisco) and Doris Day (Whatever will be will be, Our day will come). Perez Prado also features on two tracks - one with Rosemary Clooney (Sway) and one solo (Guaglione). There are other famous classics here including Something stupid (Frank amd Nancy Sinatra), Born free (Matt Monro), Raindrops keep falling on my head (B J Thomas), Memories are made of this (Dean Martin), By the time I get to Phoenix (Glen Campbell), I couldn't live without your love (Petula Clark), Where are you now my love (Jackie Trent), The more I see you (Chris Montez), Fever (Peggy Lee), What a difference a day makes (Dinah Washington), Catch a falling star (Perry Como), Windmills of your mind (Noel Harrison), What a wonderful world (Louis Armstrong) and MacArthur Park (Richard Harris) - and that's just a few of them. This is a magnificent compilation of easy listening music from the fifties and sixties. Ordered for Kelly.
I ordered this for Kelly, a long time friend, he was after one track, and says he's got quite a few new favourites from it. Incidentally,it was Noel Harrison's -Windmills Of Your Mind that he was originally after. It was a Billy bargain anyway ,being a double cd.

Not bought to watch the girls go by
I bought this collection of the Golden Oldies so I could cherry pick my favourite tracks to load onto a flash drive for playing in my car, not having an auto changer in my car and only a laptop stuck on the centre console by the makers it is the modern way of doing things, none of those useless old fashion CD disc players you hear so much about. It offers good value with a wide range of original artist performances with a good quality sound reproduction.
