It slices thin, so definately NOT 3" thick. **Q: Do you think I can use this knife to trim that off large piece of beef?** A: Question is not very clear. This is a doner/shawarma/gyro knife. If you are not familiar, watch a youtube video to see. Normally doner/shawarma is shaved off in small pieces. These electric knives allow people who are less skilled to cut it. **Q: Can this cut through turkey bone properly?** A: Nooooooo! This is not the right tool to cut bone!
