Cheap beyond belief.
Wow. That's all I can say. I'm surprised that there are any non-negative reviews on here since the combination of design and materials seems doomed to failure. It's impossible to assemble without the screws on the top shelf cracking. One of the braces was already split before the screws went in. Two of the other 3 cracked when screws were inserted. I didn't overtighten or really jam them in there, the piece is so delicate that it would have collapsed under even the slightest force.I wonder if they use different batches of wood - some of which are sturdier than others? I saw that several people posted pictures of happy shoes neatly stored on theirs but I can't imagine mine holding up to the weight of more than a few pairs of flip flops.

I've crafted sturdier paper airplanes
This thing is rickety. You can't see it in the picture, but the cross bars are perhaps 1/8" dowls. And I think the rest is made of glued together Popsicle sticks. Alright, that's an exaggeration, but it is made from very thin, very soft, very fragile wood pieces that may or may not be pine. If you tighten the screws even slightly too much, you will spilt the wood. If you set it out in a small breeze, it will collapse. Mine arrived with the wood pitted and damaged because it was so soft. $20 is over priced. Ultimately, I returned this, went to the hardware store and bought some wood pieces that I glued/screwed together. This ended up being cheaper and a lot sturdier than this thing.

The wood is questionable, not even worth the cheap price..
This is a VERY POOR QUALITY WOOD(?). Right, Maybe it was Balsa wood. The kind you use to make the little toy airplanes.that break as you put them together...sort of like these shelves. They chipped, cracked, tore, broke, and collapsed before I could get the product fully assembled. I was so upset, and I do not get upset but it was one of those days, but I end up taking a hammer to them at the side of the house. And to relieve stress during the week I went outside and stomped on the shelves for a minute or two. In that respect they were great. Pity they had to go out with the trash pick-up at the end of the week....

Worked perfectly in our hall tree.
This shoe rack fit perfectly inside our hall tree. The dark stain is a bonus. The screw holes do not line up but we would not have used them anyway. These photos show the shoe rack sitting inside our hall tree. The shoe sizes shown are toddler 9, little kid 13, women's 8, and men's 12. Very pleased to have the huge pile of shoes in order!

Great value!
Not sure where all the negative reviews for this are coming from. Sure, it’s not the nicest shoe rack out there, but it’s stylish and gets the job done. And at $14, it’s a steal.Takes a bit of time to assemble (and it’s a little tricky), but the rack is pretty sturdy and doesn’t wobble. One of the wood shelves was warped, but I just put this shelf on the bottom so it wouldn’t be visible. Again, it was super cheap so I wasn’t expecting it to be flawless.I live in a small apartment, and it looks great in my living room and helps me maximize space!

Good buy, pretty cute, cheaply made.
I do like this product for what I needed it for, though this product is cheaply made. But it also is cheap. So I can’t complain. I knew what I was buying. Nothing came broken and it took much less than 15 minutes to put together. Maybe 3 minutes. But I also had a drill. Anyway, great product for what I planned to use it for. Not sure if it’s for everyone else. Probably would make an “ok” shoe rack.

My bad for not reading the reviews first before ordering this ...
My bad for not reading the reviews first before ordering this item, but hey, it happens. For those that complained about it being flimsy, it is completely fine for normal shoes. This is not supposed to be a step stool. Unless you are wearing work and army boots exclusively it is fine. We filled it up with tennis shoes and women's heels with no problems. And the bottom shelf is high enough to fit flip-flops and other flats beneath it.However, unlike the product description, this product is not lacquered. It is bare wood and there are splinters on some of the edges. And maybe I missed it, but there was no mention of assembly being required. Also, one of the legs didn't have a notch properly cut into it which made that shelf slightly weaker, but still usable. Overall, it is fine for the task at hand, it was the right height (just below the hanging clothes in the closet), and was sufficiently strong to do the job it is supposed to do. But if you can find a similar item for a similar price from another manufacturer, by that one.

but this was really bad. I'm afraid to even put pressure on it ...
This is an extremely flimsy product. I know its cheap, so my expectations were already low, but this was really bad. I'm afraid to even put pressure on it to put it together in fear that the wood will break.
