Review: Perfect for business use - I was looking for a fountain pen to carry with me to business meetings that wouldn't break the bank (or the heart if it was ever lost). Most of the reviews I read about this sub $50 pen were positive so I dove it to give it a try. Overall impressions are positive and this pen will make a permanent place in my business portfolio. If you are looking for a pen that feels much more expensive than it really is, this is the pen you want. For a more detailed review, see below. I picked this pen up after realizing how much I enjoy my Lamy Safari and I figured, correctly, this pen would be a fantastic step up. The overall length is 5.5 inches and it is about .5 inches wide at it's widest point in the middle of the pen. The ends taper slightly to give this pen a very modern appearance. The cap pops off and on with a subtle click and seems to be plenty sturdy. This pen is constructed primarily out of metal with some of the internal mechanism being made out of quality plastic. The exterior of the pen is coated with a satin coating giving the pen a smooth appearance with just a couple of subtle touches of silver at the bottom and the top. The clip is an elegant twisted teardrop shape that is unique among pens that I have seen and is strong enough to grip a pocket without worrying about it falling out. The pen does come with a standard twist-type converter giving flexibility in ink choices and colors and it holds a decent amount of ink giving me about a week of use before needing to be refilled. The nib on my pen is the Lamy 'F' and it is an extremely smooth writing nib, even on super cheap paper. The actual line width is a bit wider than I expected, but I have not had any issues with ink flow or saturation. Overall performance is on par with many of my much more expensive pens. I got this pen, partially, to match the color of my favorite line of ink - the j. Herbin Anniversary ink. This one is filled with the Blue Ocean color which is a solid blue-black with gold shimmer and the color matches this pen nicely. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this pen as it performs far above its price point. This would make a fantastic gift for someone looking to add a little old school panache to their daily writing.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it come with a converter? People gave different answers, but is anyone 100% sure about this? Waiting for an awser to make a decision.....**
A: I bought the steel nib, silver Studio in 9/2017. It did not come with the converter, which was stated when I bought it. However, it also did not come with an ink cartridge, even though it was advertised as being included.

**Q: What's the exact type of point? 0.5mm? 0.7mm? 0.8mm? or 1.0mm?**
A: I believe mine is a fine nib, probably a 0.7mm, maybe even a 0.5mm. Since it's not specified and the seller is not Amazon, just click on their name and email them. What I received may not be what you receive. I do like the pen. I have received many compliments. I've used it daily for about 4 years.

**Q: Is the nib replacable? I like to use a left oblique nib.**
A: Yes! The nibs swap out easily. There are a ton of tutorials on YouTube regarding how to change a Lamy nib (Goulet has a great one), and I switched the original nib to a stub 1.1mm on my Studio upon receipt. It took 20 seconds!

Lamy's nibs are proprietary, so make sure you have a Lamy left oblique nib to place.

**Q: is this pen fully metal? if not, where is it not metal?**
A: The cap, barrel and nib are all metal.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a gem of a pen
*by J***X on June 15, 2021*

There was some misleading information in some reviews so I thought that I would write one. I purchased my imperial blue Lamy Studio here directly from Amazon, not a third party. At its price point it is easily my favorite modern designed fountain pen. As you can see in the photo it is gorgeous. It comes in a nice giftable box with a blue cartridge. Lamy does not include a converter with pens at this price point. There are reviews that say that the grip is slippery. I found this not to be true. Most fountain pens have a shiny plastic grip. Shiny metal is no different, and after an hour’s writing had no issue with grip. The weight is perfect for me, and it is well balanced with the cap posted. I got the fine nib. I was worried that being a German fine that it would be too fine for my taste. This isn’t the case. Ink flow is great but not too wet. For a stainless nib it writes very smooth. I see myself giving these as gifts in the future. Anyone has to love this pen! Cheers!
