ALPS OutdoorZCrossfire Hunting Pack, Realtree Edge

Picked this up for deer/elk hunting. It’s a great day pack. A little small if your planning to load it up. The breathable back is a lifesaver for sweat control. Very comfortable.

Great design, material, camo pattern, and durability. The fit is unique; I'd definitely recommend trying on this pack in a store and then buy here (it was cheaper at least for me) to make sure it fits your frame. But as long as your built for it, it is a very comfortable pack, lots of hooks and attachment points, description is spot on, and the versatility is fantastic.

Purchase for and used on a four day hunt in Anticosti. Never used back pack before, just waist belt type carriers which put a lot of pressure on my lower back. This hunting pack was comfortable with the built in frame and took all the pressure off. Plenty of storage area. The rain cover came in handy on the one rainy day.

I am a woman, so the backpack was perfect in size for me.I have been wearing this backpack several times a week for a year now; so every season covered.I love everything about it but the frame, built to keep from sitting on the back, makes the large compartment VERY hard to access. I keep my camera and lens in there, and getting them in and out is a real chore. Clothes also. I keep looking at the frame to see if there is any way I can adjust it.I do like the backpack. I have had no problems with the quality, and it gets knocked about quite a bit, but the frame makes me deduct two stars.Update 2022 - I removed the frame and the pockets on the front strap, and it has been perfect. I wear it several times a week for my work, and it has held up wonderfully.

One of the most comfortable packs I have worn. The zippers work great and are quiet when it matters most. All the straps can be tucked away with ease so they’re not flopping in the wind making movement. The sling worked great holding my bow and my rifle. The rain guard, being orange, is a nice backup if you need to lend your orange to your hunting partner like I did. The only complaint I have is that on occasion the front two pouches on the pack around your waist snagged my rifle sling when I tried to pull up on a deer. Luckily it didn’t cost me a trophy or anything but it was a little frustrating. All in all a GREAT pack!

It is extremely comfortable to wear. Zippers are easy to pull even with gloves. Easily adjustable. Now onto the critiques.Smaller than expected. The x frame bends away from your back to create a breathable space on your back... BUT this also takes that space away from the bag, which causes it to be smaller than expected. My normal load-out for the day is four bottles of water, a set of 4 cotton quarter bags, a 50’x1/2” rope, some food, and some small accessories. This literally filled up the bag and it shouldn’t have, but the frame squeezes the bag.And the detachable bag is a great idea but I wish it was just a little bit wider. I literally jammed a pair of 10x50 Vortex binoculars in there and it felt comfortable to wear in the back, front, or by itself. But I’m going to get a proper bino harness bag because this isn’t going to fly for long. I really wish their bino accessory was compatible with this bag.I noticed that the bag isn’t reinforced at critical attachment points where the webbing is sewn into the bag. I know this is surely going to be a longer term issue. It should have bar tack stitching at these points but it doesn’t.3 1/2 stars.

I think it's a great bag. Quality material and stitching. The frame does decrease the amount the pack can carry but I knew that before I bought it. Highly recommended it.

Sehr solide, prima verarbeitet und von der Ergonomie her brilliant.Für Unternehmungen mit leichtem Gepäck, kleinere Tagestouren oder sportlichere Outdooraktivitäten ein interessanter und hochergonomischer Begleiter.Das integrierte, gewölbte Gestell auf der Rückenseite kostet zwar Stauraum, aber für Gepäckmärsche gibt es andere Rucksäcke.Dafür wird man mit einer hervorragenden Ventilation des Rückens belohnt, so dass man entspannt einige Kilometer in schwerem Gelände zurücklegen kann, ohne dass einem das Hemd Rücken klebt.So etwas kann einem ja sehr schnell den Spaß an Outdooraktivitäten verderben.Bietet neben einer versteckten Gewehrschlaufe vielfältige, sinnvolle Möglichkeiten zur Befestigung von verschiedensten Dingen und hält jede Menge große und kleine Fächer bereit.Der gut gepolsterte Hüftgurt mit Zusatztaschen führt in Verbindung mit der auf Brusthöhe befindlichen und per Klickverschluss arretierbaren Verbindung der zwei Trageriemen dazu, dass die Gewichtsbelastung sehr gleichmäßig auf Hüfte und Schultern verteilt wird und man kaum noch spürt, dass man einen Rucksack trägt.Durch seine gut der Körperform angepassten Segmente ermöglicht der Rucksack noch eine enorm hohe Beweglichkeit bei verschiedensten Anforderungen.Wer einen Transportrucksack fürs Familienpicknick inklusive Speisen, Getränke und Wechselklamotten für alle Wetterlagen sucht, der sollte definitiv ein größeres Modell kaufen, aber für die genannten Einsatzbereiche ist das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis voll in Ordnung.Ich hatte noch ein paar wesentlich teurere Modelle vergleichbarer Ausstattung im Visier, bin aber jetzt im Nachhinein froh, nicht so unverhältnismäßig viel Geld für einen Rucksack ausgegeben zu haben, der diesen sicher nur unwesentlich überbieten kann.Angesichts der Preisaufrufe mancher Hersteller müssten deren Rucksäcke schon Krebs heilen können.Durch diesen tollen Begleiter ist mir nebenbei auch klargeworden, wie falsch es wäre, sich einen Rucksack zu kaufen, der größer ist, als er es für den Hauptnutzungszweck sein muß!

While I have taken the pack out yet, I can say I am impressed with quality of the pack. DONT buy badlands, this is just as good and half the price. Fits well, good stitching, and well organized. Just keep in mind the pack is quite small, maybe a tad larger than your kids school pack but good for a 1-5 day hunt.
