Spot Shot-9716 Instant Carpet Stain & Odor Eliminator, 22 OZ [Non-Aerosol Trigger] [6-Pack]

My honey and I bought our first home this summer. It's small. It's old. It's 'well lived in'. And it's completely covered in very old carpeted flooring. We spent every last dime paying for the house in full and didn't have a penny to spare. Carpet wasn't in the budget this year, but the carpet we had was almost unlivable. It was covered (I mean literally every step you took covered) in stains. My honey wouldn't take his shoes off and I wore slippers everywhere. Vacuuming wasn't doing anything- although it did collect a lot of dust. We needed something that would take the stains out and hopefully eliminate some of the funky odor of this well-used floor.I read a few reviews of this product online. People raved about it. I was skeptical. Could this stuff really remove red wine from white carpet? Our carpet was a light tan and had stains that I'm pretty sure were red wine. I thought I'd buy some- just to see. It was worth a try. Nothing else was working.HOLY SMOKES! Yes- the cap locks was necessary there. This stuff is INSANE! It needs it's own infomercial. You would not believe your eyes. I wish I would have videotaped my experience. I started in the worst room of the house- the kitchen. It was pretty much a disaster area. There were ketchup stains, grease stains, juice stains, food stains, and all sorts of horrible smells oozing from the floor. I made a big pot of boiling hot water. Grabbed an old dish rag. And sprayed Spot Shot on the first stain (a huge brown stain right along the wall). You're supposed to spray directly onto the carpet. That's what I did. It foamed up (just a little) and turned into tiny white bubbles. Then I took the cloth, dipped it in the hot water, rung the water out, and dabbed the stain. Within ten dabs of the stain it was completely (COMPLETELY) gone! One square foot of the house down. Six hundred more to go.I spent a full week using eight bottles of this product all over my house. The doorway was another problem area. Mud, cat pee, dog pee, and blood (the last owner was a fisherman and I guess a few of his catches made a mess at the doorway). The living room had it's own issues. Their kid used to sleep on the floor and there was pee everywhere (I mean, an almost unbearable stench). This stuff worked wonders. It not only made the smells go away, it virtually made the stains disappear. Within a week our carpet looked amazing. It was still worn and no where near brand new. But it was all the same color! No more stains! We could walk around in socks and not feel like we were risking our hygienic wellbeing.I've also used Spot Shot on a few other places. Our kids mattresses were becoming filthy. Spray a few areas with this and all pee and sweat stains are gone. We used it on our couch and the odors from our big stinky dogs were completely blown away. Heck, I've used it on clothing stains that won't come off. It does the job better than any detergent ever could.Even better? Not only is this stuff so simple to use- it barely smells. It has a very mild, not overwhelming, not 'chemical' smell to it. It smells clean- but not bleachy clean (it doesn't sting your eyes or your nose). On the bottle it says it's safe for homes with pets and kids. Although I didn't let either of my family members (young or furry) use the floor while this product dried- I do feel that it was safe for them. The smell was so subtle no one had to leave the room while I cleaned. One bottle got me through about fifty square feet. Eight bottles cleaned my entire 600 square foot home (minus the bathroom and under appliances, cabinets, and other permanent features of the home).I really cannot explain how happy I am with this product. I have no negatives to list. It was just a totally positive experience using this. It works. The smell is mild. It's safe for pets and children. It's just... awesome. A five star product across the board. I cannot tell you how highly I recommend this product to anyone in dier need of clean carpet. We were. And instead of spending hundreds on a new floor. We spent $30.00 and simply cleaned ours.I still keep this stuff on hand.

Have been using the aerosol product and decided to switch to the spray bottle because there won't be any waste as when the aerosol is used. First used on a whim on a cheap carpet to remove some WD-40 spots. Worked like a charm with no change in the carpet color, which happened with other products. Then tried on an expensive carpet where stains had been worked into the fibers over the years. Removed those as well and, again, no blemishes remained. This is good stuff.

I have used this product ever since I found out about it when I was training dogs. It takes out all kinds of stains, new or old. And, so far, it hasn't discolored anything that I have used it on. It's a bit pricey on Amazon but when ya need it, ya need it!

I don't know how it works but it makes stains disappear. If you have pets you definitely need this stuff. Unfortunately the spray bottles tend to be flakey and I sometimes have to transfer the contents to another spray bottle that works.

We have apts for rent, and you would not believe some of ths stains that are left for us to clean. Several years ago we had a spot we did not believe we could get out, when one of our staff said I know what will get it out, so we got a can, and sure enough it worked, and we always carry a supply . We just dont want to be with out it. Try it you will be suprised.

Best product for pet stains. This is better than the aerosol Spot Shot

Great product. Works like a dream. I prefer this pump spray over the aerosol can. I have had problems wit the aerosol cans not working at all.

Ive been using this product for a while, primarily for pet stains. Easy to use, works well. The oxi clean products work well too though - probably depends of type of stain you are working on
