Review: A Treasure that’s been around over 20 yrs - For a long time I saw this stuff all over my mom’s house! I knew she had dentures but never read the tube just assumed it was for her dentures! Well 3-5 yrs after my mom passed away I had my top 8 remaining front teeth removed; being the Vain woman that I’ve excepted I am I made sure the dentist had a already made top denture read to be placed before I left! Everything we fabulous! My only issue was I couldn’t eat solid food for a while or use tubed glue until my gums healed. Well after a cpl days I could no longer swallow soft food or soup because immediately it would come right back out! Frustrated I vented to a friend to which she replied “use the fixodent powder to eat it won’t require you to jeopardize the healing process and would allow me to successfully eat a actual meal so I did and WOWWW it worked after I was healed I used the tube glue because I prefer the lasting time of it to the powder being I constant drink throughout the day; not alcohol lol but water or soft drinks! Before I got my simi permanent liner I had some serious rubbing issues and omg that’s the most painful thing aside from toothaches and earaches so I remembered this stuff I had casually left in my moms purse when she passed because it reminded me of her when I’d grab the purse for comfort or reflection that was something she always had well although out dated a bit I tried a small amount and OMGGGG it was absolutely amazing and the pain was gone and sitting under my denture it offered extra cushion and complete pain relief!! It’s much thicker then toothpaste but not at all difficult to apply! You dry the area to which you need to apply it, one dry or simi dry apply a small amount (you don’t need a lot) and add your glue to denture or don’t depending on personal choice and you can remove any excess that come out when you bit down to secure teeth with a Cotten swab or Q-Tip!! Good luck and if you haven’t tried it go ahead you won’t regret it!!

I've learned to avoid toothpastes that contain sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) which has lessoned the frequency and severity and I used to use another benzocaine product called Kank-a for pain relief. But it was only mildly effective because the consistency is like syrup and never stayed on a sore long enough to do much good. After using several other products that contain benzocaine 20%, this Benzodent has landed as my new favorite! It's a paste that actually *sticks* to the sore keeping it numb for hours. The other product would liquify with saliva and run all over my mouth and even down my throat so I'd have lots of pockets of numbness. Kind of a mess. Benzodent is far better at localizing the medicine and stays only where you need it. Apply a half-pea size of it onto a cotton swab and apply directly to the sore spot. Once in place, I'm able to brush my teeth and even eat spicy foods completely pain free! Same active ingredient, it's the consistency that makes all the difference. Great stuff!

**Q: How do i return**
A: There is a drop down menu here on Amazon (on my phone it's at the top left of screen).

**Q: Is the tube plastic?  Last time purchased was metal, time before plastic.  Metal tube cracks n leakd**
A: Same here. I personally cannot stand the metal tube for the exact reason you mentioned. When you try folding up the used portion, you always end up with a tear, and the stuff just oozes out. I would like to see room on the ordering page for "additional notes", because if I did, I would always opt for "please send plastic tube. Metal tube isn't as efficient, and is costing me money."

**Q: How long can you use this. the package says not more than 7 days. with dentures i'm afraid i may want to use it longer?**
A: Generally cold sores & sores from rubbing dentures will heal in about a week. Occasional use is ok and continual denture sores require denture adjustments.  But it would be very difficult to over use this med on small oral lesions.

**Q: Is Bexident the same thing**
A: I don't think so, Benzodent is used for pain associated with dentures. Which works very well for me. Bexident to my understanding is a mouthwash that treats gum disease.

For a long time I saw this stuff all over my mom’s house! I knew she had dentures but never read the tube just assumed it was for her dentures!
