HOW TO USE
No doubt this is an awful design. As a petite woman, I had to make it work. I zip tied it in place with some 180lb zip, once it was in place, cocking was a breeze. The release lever still leaves much to be desired. But once it's "stuck in place" it works just fine. I can't really cock the device without it, now it's fast and easy. I'm ordering some 250lb zips to keep with me so I can replace the current ones when the old ones wear out, so if you're trying to mimic me (check for wear, don't wait til it breaks, I'm sure it'll fly up - keep snips with you, and use the foot rest and angle the bow as if you were cocking it with a string and crank it - takes 2 secs) with this mod, the device is worth about 35-50 bucks. But no doubt this is the worst design i've ever seen!!! How could they think to release it? It's garbage!!!! - Good Luck!!!

I guess we bought it used?
I bought this for my neighbour, he loves fishing and complained that it was scratched up and "well used" when he received it, but he loved it anyway.

Very poor design
The cranker works, but not very well, it sits loosely in place in the stock of the crossbow behind the rope guide for the rope cocker in a hole, there is no way to lock it in place, it just sits there, and the detachable handle just sits n place and does not lock in place, and as your cranking the string home the handle comes off because off the amount of tension, as your nearly fully cocked in place there is so much tension that you really need to hold on the bow, it does not make it easier to cock the bow but much harder in reality, and the release mechanism is spring loaded which means you have to hold it down as your unwinding and while holding the bow, you almost need 3 hands, it's a poor design, it's kind of an after thought design, I think based on the company's reputation of having over 20 years in the crossbow business that they could of done much better, especially since the device is priced at $ 94.00, there are much better crank cockers out there for less money, I'm returning it for a refund and sticking with the rope cocker, I know there are some universal cockers on the market, I'll look into those, but I would not recommend this device at all, which is ashame because I love the crossbow I purchased it for, the Empire Terminator.

SA Sports Empire crank device
I have a beuwolf empire crossbow. The SA Sports crank device made loading the crossbow seem much safer. At first I used the rope pulleys but felt if something gave loose I would be hit in the chin with 175 lbs of force. Not a comfortable line of thought. Anyway the crank device exceeded my expectations. I got my buck the first day I used it. Cant do much better than that. Thanks for a great product. Bob

Waste of Money & Poor Design!
The cranker works, but is a very poor design. It just sits loosely in place in the stock of the crossbow behind where the scope goes in a hole, and there is no way to lock it in place!! It just sits there, and as tension builds it starts popping out of the hole and you have to hold it down with your hand. Plus the detachable handle does not lock in place, and as you're cranking the string back the handle comes off because of the amount of tension. Also the button your press to release the tension only worked when there was little tension, making it impossible to release and remove the crank device after cocking the bow! It does not make it easier to cock the bow but much harder in reality, You almost need 3 hands to use the thing, and there was no paperwork or instructions that came with it at all. I total waste of almost $100, don't waste your money on this, buy a different crank device or just use a rope to cock your crossbow as this was way easier than using this after-thought of a device!
