Love this switch. Sturdy construction. plenty of ports with sfp and non-powered ports for uplink / downlink.

Switch is trash so far. Can't configure squat. Default password and cold reset doesn't work.
Wow i've spent 4 hours trying to figure how to configure this thing and I'm still stuck. Instructions are trash. I re-IP'd my ethernet port to 10.90.90.89/24 and tried to reach 10.90.90.90. Doesn't work. I was using my Macbook then gave up and then tried setting it up with Windows. I installed the d-link network assistant tool and it discovered the device on a totally different IP, 10.0.0.246. I thought I would finally be able to login, but now the password, "admin" doesn't work. I know I'm not the only with this problem. I saw someone else post it on reddit with no resolution. This switch is useless to me in it's current state. I tried cold reset and pin hole 10 second to reset button with no success. Please help me if you know how to get this thing working or else I'm returning the ten I bought. Also submitted a d-link support so I'll see if I can get this working.Edit: D-Link Support got back to me and RMA'd my units so I changed my stars from 1 to 3

Great little switch for the price
If you are looking for a solid, low cost switch with POE and density - this D-Link is hard to beat. This one is used to power 10 IP phones and a hand ful of router / AP and workstation connections. It has full VLAN / QoS support though in smaller installations they are probably not needed. Installation is a snap and runs great with base configuration out of the box.

Works great noisy as all heck
Works great noisy as all heck, this was installed in residential setting. Customer put up with it, but I wanted to send it back. I have a few installed in commercial settings where they are great.

We use these all the time for our customer with our VOIP phones. Very simple setup and configuration.

Great performance
Pretty good performance straight from the box. Disabling some of the security and power management features releases more CPU power for actual packet switching.

Guter Switch; extrem laut
Der Switch scheint brauchbar. Die Lüfter laufen aber im Dauerbetrieb und sind extrem laut. Daher ist der Switch nur für Rechenzentren oder ein Kellerverliess fern jegliger Wohnbereiche o.ae. geeignet. Wir wollten den Switch in einer Abstellkammer installieren; von dort war er aber in den Nachbarräumen hörbar.
